String Zero Project

I haven't publicly expressed my three motivations for creating String Zero. 1) Help elevate and support the people I work with. 2) Help elevate and support queer/furry writing/art. 3) Diversify and improve my own writing abilities.

These are all incremental goals that land sometimes and not others.

It's #bandcampfriday which means extra money goes towards your favorite artists whenever you purchase from them on bandcamp. While our album is free / pay what you want, we still appreciate the support to either us or the many artists we've worked with.

An itch update. Essentially, if a game is fully free, not "pay what you want," in that it does not involve payment processing, it will be reindexed.

Various other updates: itch getting clarification from stripe (still ambiguous), and looking for other processing options.

The problem with unnuanced discourse on the "appropriateness" of fiction is that it will always be co-opted by bad faith actors with the goal of extinguishing deviant behavior: "Appropriateness" as a moral argument with no further reasoning serves a singular purpose: Control. 1/7

Collated info for those looking to contact payment processors and lodge a complaint.

"Part of this review will see some pages being permanently removed from itch.io. Affected accounts will be notified via their account’s email address from our support address. You can reply to that email if you have any follow up questions."

"Once this review is complete, we will introduce new compliance measures. For NSFW pages, this will include a new step where creators must confirm that their content is allowable under the policies of the respective payment processors linked to their account."

Itch has made a statement, along the lines of what we all expected. What silver lining there is seems to be that they will follow similar standards as Steam and relist content after they have performed an audit.

Along with many other devs, we have made a statement on our devlog regarding the current issues with itch removing adult content from its platform.

To confirm, any game in any way tagged 18+ or NSFW has now been shadowbanned and can not be searched on the itch platform. You can still navigate directly to their websites.

This is extremely concerning not just for adult games, but also furry and queer games in general, as the bad actors pushing the payment processors who service platform like itch and steam will not stop at this.

Their aims are to deplatform all adult and minority content.
