Conceivable that some wealthy benefactor of the school behind #1 had a "quiet word". Odd coincidence though.

Maybe coincidental but I think #1 Great George Square is the one I've highlighted in blue. Its occupant in 1833 was Andrew Comber who was the Liverpool Agent for Pickfords (and had been for 10 years). He might have some influence via his employers. He joined the LMR in a similar capacity in 1829.

Sunny days are good for walking but also for visiting galleries. Accordingly, off to the Williamson again to see art by Steve des Landes, a new exhibition featuring sculptor Adrian Jeans and, in the cafe, a distant view of Liverpool by Eyes(?). Still need to go back for more!

Feeling a bit sluggish today so just a short circuit of #Royden from courtyard to Benty’s and back. Slippery in places and a fair amount of surface water but dodged the worst of the rain while “refuelling”.

To #Liverpool to visit the Walker which was unexpectedly closed as per all NG&MM sites today so into visually stunning Central Library instead to see Picton, Hornby and Oak Rooms. Interesting exhibition on theme of voyages in Hornby.

Dry and a little warmer for this morning’s circuit of #Royden. Coffee and carbs at the courtyard. Knee still a bit wonky so detour via the pines as it’s softer and drier underfoot. The tracks are made by an intrepid guy on a mobility scooter.

Knee in recovery mode so just a #Royden walk from courtyard to Benty’s and back. Quiet with miserable weather not helping. Nice heart-shaped scone in honour of St Val but needs jam for full effect and diet doesn’t extend that far.

Looking for somewhere warm and under cover to get a (very) few steps in, went on spec to the Williamson Art Gallery. Delighted to find some excellent new exhibitions. Particularly liked the paintings by resident artist Steve des Landes.

Do agree, however, that the arrangement at King's Cross appears closer to that at Manchester.
