Does the ND Student Network count? I’m running it by myself at the moment (would love some volunteers, I won’t be a student forever and need someone to take over eventually. Lol). And do faith support groups count?

Agreed. Even in basic undergrad study we’re shown just how much of society is restricted by concepts that aren’t defined in academia. From the concept of intelligence and the, frankly idiotic, IQ cult to the whole weight-health debate and BMI!

Wish I hadn’t now. That’s a whole lot of ignorance and idiocy, right there.

Since when has a concept had to be useful (or even work) for it to be implemented into society? There are countless terms that have never been definitively defined by science or academia that are used to create infrastructures that you all use probably on a daily basis. Such as intelligence, IQ, BMI

Been married 16 years now. To celebrate, we’re heading to some gardens to see some pretty flowers. Which we do most days. Clearly, we’re living the rock and roll lifestyle.

Went for a tour around @universityofleeds.bsky.social today with my best friend, who is doing his PhD there. I’ve accepted a place with them starting October but part of me daren’t look into student finance or DSA because my results aren’t back yet and I feel like it may all still be taken away. 🤷🏼‍♀️

As long as I'm posting about my upcoming book chapters on neurodiversity and education, I might as well reshare my page of resources all about the two (focusing on secondary school education, because that's where I have the most experience).

Education at all levels has a huge amount to learn from neurodivergent people, and I hope that these two volumes will do a little to help shift the field towards listening to these insights.

Inclusive education is not easy, but it's vital. Educators are struggling more than they need to.
