So glad we all get to experience the Most Ironic Independence Day In American History.

Don't get me wrong. I'm super-pissed at Murkowski and every other R who flipped on this thing. But you, as a journalist, have the power to direct our attn to existential threats to our democracy, both now and BEFORE this vote. DO it, damn it! And REPEAT ad nauseum, as the R's do so successfully.

This journalism angers me.

This law hands the Executive Branch the funding for its own military, and we're focusing on somebody looking bad?

You said this is "the most regressive proposal in at least a generation?" IT FUNDED AN ENTIRE ARMY FOR THE PRESIDENT. That's WAY beyond "regressive."

!!!!!!

While we rightfully focus on Medicaid & SNAP cuts, this bill also gives Homeland Security & ICE over $160 BILLION.

For context: that's a larger budget than every single MILITARY in the world, except for the U.S.'s & China's.

All as they keep violating due process & refuse to answer to the people.

I watched as much as I could. The smiles on their faces...as they prepare to make the US a fascist police state.

This Is Why Dictatorships Fail The authors of the Constitution separated powers for a reason.

Anne Applebaum does good work based on real-world experience with autocracy and corruption, particularly in Russia and Hungary. She knows her stuff.

3b. This creates a permission structure, a foundation of support, for them to do what they should do for democracy. Some R Congresspeople are not on board with T****, but they do not feel safe speaking against him yet. WE have the power to make them feel safe enough.

3a. Contact all Senators, even the ones that support R, with messages of support for shutting T**** down, along with his entire cabinet.

IMPORTANT! LISTEN!

Democracies collapse "when gradually, often quietly and methodically, over time, the structures that hold the Executive accountable--for corruption, for thievery, and for wrongdoing--are dismantled, so that citizens can no longer hold the Executive accountable."

Gotta correct the media again on something. The administration is not sending migrants to a mega prison in El Salvador. They’re sending human beings to a concentration camp.

Booker: Strom Thurmond’s record always kind of just really irked me. That the longest speech on our great Senate floor was from someone who was trying to stop people like me from being in the Senate. So to surpass that became more important to me.

The image is a heatmap titled "Measles," showing measles cases across U.S. states from 1928 to 2003. States listed on the y-axis include Alaska, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, North Dakota, New Hampshire, New York, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. The x-axis spans years from 1928 to 2003. A vertical line marks the introduction of the measles vaccine around 1963. The color scale at the bottom ranges from blue (0 cases) to red (4,000+ cases), with shades of green, yellow, and orange indicating intermediate values (1,000, 2,000, 3,000 cases). Before 1963, many states show frequent high case numbers (yellow to red), while after 1963, cases drop significantly, with mostly blue indicating near-zero cases.

And yet Joe Rogan puts guests on who say "Vaccines aren't actually responsible for the reduction in infectious diseases.”
