I would have said Arizona. Not that we really have anything against Arizona, but it's where all the Californians that Californians hate go when they move out of the state.

Different Alan Scott than the Green Lantern one, but we are both gay. Were I ever actually to get off my but and post stuff, I'd be posting about Tabletop, Comics, Mixology, Current Events, and Retail Management. Sacramento, California, USA.

"Rude" is essentially a shadowban and is capriciously applied.
"Rude or impolite, including crude language and disrespectful comments, without constructive purpose."
Dudes, your CEO was shrieking "Waffles!" at people.
HELLO I WAS A QUEER TEEN IN THE 1990s AND THE ARGUMENTS AGAINST SOCIAL TRANSITION NOW ARE INDISTINGUISHABLE FROM THE ARGUMENTS AGAINST "LETTING" US BE (at the time, for me) GAY OR LESBIAN THEN.
They all rest on the belief that it's inherently better to be straight (then)/cis (now) and that's BS.
Their seeds are on the outside so they don't gestate their young. I believe that makes them Marsupials, specifically.

This attitude (other than the hating on Newsom part) has it backwards:
16.02.2026 16:39 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Addendum:
All of my complaining about mediocre White guys shouldn't be read to suggest that White guys generally shouldn't still be under consideration. Fundamentally, it's the mediocrity that's the danger. And especially portraying that mediocrity as "safety" or "normality" in a candidate.
Democrats are worried about nominating another Harris, but that's not the danger. What will doom us is nominating another Biden.
16.02.2026 16:27 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I'm deeply worried that we will nominate another mediocre White guy (who, to be clear, will still win. Whoever the Dem nominee is, they will win)... and then set us up for another loss in 2032--and even worse, do so in a way that pins the failure on someone like AOC.
16.02.2026 16:27 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0We cannot let the Democratic Party fall into this trap. And more broadly, we cannot fall into the trap of letting our fear trick us into nominating "Safe" candidates. Because "Safe" candidates can't win re-elections, and can't carry the coalition.
16.02.2026 16:27 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0That's the "Glass Cliff" effect. A sort of counterpart to the Glass Ceiling in which organizations are much more likely to appoint women leaders when they are already in crisis, often setting up those women leaders for failure.
Wikipedia has a solid article covering the details:
And then when it became clear that he was a failure, we set up a Black Woman to take the loss in his place. So the narrative becomes "It's dangerous to nominate a woman", "It's dangerous to nominate a minority".
No. The danger came from your mediocre White guy.
Truth is, we went with the mediocre white guy candidate in 2020, and look where that got us: Biden failed to hold Trump accountable for his crimes, stalled out almost immediately, and lost an election because he was out-of-touch in so many ways.
16.02.2026 16:27 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Picking on JCO here, but this attitude is 100% wrong.
Republicans under Trump are so unpopular that the Democratic candidate is going to win no matter who they are. So now is when you swing for the fences.
Folks, we need to talk about something called the Glass Cliff.๐งต
One thing that stands out is that even the models that get the answer right take several paragraphs to do so.
A classic sell case for AI is "You can get it to write emails for you". This really highlights how wrongheaded that is, and how you should probably just be emailing your prompt.
Woo! It's officially out!
I had so much fun playtesting this, and I'm excited to see the final release.

15.02.2026 03:49 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0That part actually makes perfect sense. All of the mainstream politicans who embraced Brexit as good for the UK's economic and political freedom are proved liars or fools, but Farage was running on the pro-racism platform and Brexit did indeed usher in more racism.
