I said tens to hundreds of millions. We can't have a "Welcome" sign to anyone who wants to come here unless you want to destroy the natural landscape of the USA, destroying some to much of our biodiversity and ecosystems. I was trained in ecology. I am quite serious about this potential problem.

Frank McCourt was one of the most famous writers of our time. His first book "Angela's Ashes" was a world-wide bestseller, earned the Pulitzer Prize, was made into a film & a musical. I was lucky to have been one of his best students. He was born in the USA but spoke with an Irish accent.

We realistically can't support a population that has tens to hundreds of millions more of illegal immigrants. This will put additional stress on both North American biodiversity and ecosystems. We need a highly regulated system of immigration that ensures that we admit only the best people.

He had it a lot worse than many of these poor people. He lived under brutal Japanese occupation of northern China for approximately 15 years. He didn't see his father - a military officer - until after the end of World War II. Then he had to deal with the Chinese civil war & the Communist conquest.

He was fleeing the rise of a Communist dictatorship that had conquered China. The many who are poor are fleeing because they are poor, not because they've suffered oppression in their home countries. The USA has given preferential treatment to those fleeing Commmunist oppression & that's okay.

He had more of a right to come here than the millions of poor people who've immigrated here illegally during Biden's term.

I am interested in preserving North American biodiversity and ecosystems as the former evolutionary biologist that I am. We won't if we allow millions and millions of people around the world to immigrate here and then settle in the USA. If that makes me a bigot, then it's fine. I was born here.
