Macron's wife calling fairly mainstream feminists that were protesting an accused sexual abuser during his stand-up comedy "dirty cunts", is all you need to know about who this woman and her husband really are.

If you needed another proof that the so-called centrism will always put business and profits ahead of human rights, environmental rights and everything in between. To the point they vote with the far-right in the EU Parliament.

The've officially done it – the centre-right EPP has voted with the far-right to cut protections for human rights & nature, all to boost corporate profits

This is an extremely worrying sign for upcoming proposals to strip away more protections for climate, labour rights, privacy and more

Right-wing extremist terror group planned destruction of Galway Mosque, court hears Portlaoise District Court hears gardaí discovered ‘manifesto’ and video during search

'Right-wing extremist terror group planned destruction of Galway Mosque' and it seems it would have been the first of many other attacks had it not been foiled. Make you wonder how many more far-right extremist cells there are on this island.

79% of homes sold in Dublin this year were bought by landlords, 75% by large landlords. About 1 in 5 TDs are landlords.

This is disgusting dog whistling. The problem has never been people seeking asylum. The problem is people seeking to endlessly profit from folks just looking for a home.

I think in general I have a fairly high “politician forgiveness” threshold because I understand they face a firehose of shit everyday and also in a democracy they have to comprise all the time, but Simon Harris not standing up for immigrants in this moment feels like one that crosses that threshold

It’s time we call out the responsibility such statements have, north and south. Those are enabling - run afoul of our legal obligations under IHRL - and propelling violence against persons as a means to express political dissent. It’s more than irresponsible: it’s unacceptable

The minority du jour

None of the above really matters, except as a distraction from the wilful destruction of our beautiful flying rock by a tiny minority of self-obsessed fools who think they can buy their way out of climate Armageddon.

Garda van set alight at Citywest protest in Dublin Gardaí have begun clearing protesters from in front of the entrance of the IPAS centre at Citywest in Dublin.

This RTÉ article about the riot in Citywest manages to avoid mentioning what they were rioting for even once

Whereas The Journal calls a spade a spade in the subheading: "Anti-immigration groups and fringe far-right political parties"

Just a reminder to avoid the GPO & the Dáil tomorrow, as the latest 'revolution' by the racist bigots is taking place. Starting at the GPO at 12.15pm (formal attire requested) infesting the streets to the Dáil for 2pm. Previous years have seen tense scenes, so avoid if possible.

Possible causes of your problems. It’s a diagram that (sadly) still seems relevant in 2025, so reposting a year and a bit on.

If BusConnects plan for Ballyfermot is being watered down for cars, can Phibsborough and Crumlin plans be made more people-frendly? Comment & Analysis: We're told that “no final decisions have been made yet” on the plans to remove parts of bus lanes on the planned BusConnects route for the Ballyfermot Road, but, with construction to start sometime next month, all signs are that the National Transport Authority (NTA) is going ahead to make the plans more car-friendly to satsafy local objectors.

One of the biggest microplastic pollution sources isn’t straws or grocery bags – it’s your tires Rain storms wash those tire shards into streams and ultimately into lakes and oceans. That’s bad news for fish and other aquatic life.
