Thank you! Those photos do match much better. Enough that I could replace my unknown with Bacardi.

Trying to capture the tones of color are difficult, reds like to blowout.

I want to replace these tubers or ones very similar. I think I found leafy gall and didn't keep many tubers except one plant that seems fine. We'll see in the spring how it looks growing out.

This dahlia bloom shows more of the light center than others in this conversation. Almost gold but soft with Magenta ish edges to the petals.

I don't have a great photo of the plant itself this year. The leaves are darker and reddish compared to other dahlias (who are new to me this year). It seems to be more of a landscape dahlia, as it doesn't get too tall and stems are fine for mason jar bouquets, but not long.

A dahlia blossom, name unknown. Pinkish red or reddish pink, sorta Magenta. The petals soften to a wrap soft yellowish color in the middle.

All I wanted was her name, because I love this plant. They think it might be Karma Fuchsiana. I don't think that's right.

Photos of KF I find online are way more pink and bright yellow. This bloom is hard to photograph, but runs a deeper color and the accent is softer golden yellow.

Several years ago, I ordered my first tubers, they were supposed to be Cornel Bronze. Once she bloomed, I knew that there was a mix up. I contacted the shop, who got in touch with the grower.

Small pinapple sage cuttings in two 6-cell containers. I root cuttings for next year's plants. It's an easy one to get started.

Small rosemary branches stuck in soil. I take cuttings and grow them for the next season. Rosemary became impossible to find in the spring of 2020, the following year, I learned about how easy they can sprout roots.

A good frost comes tonight. It was my last chance to get pineapple sage cuttings. I also started rosemary for 2026.

Lemongrass grass got put in the shed tonight and the garage tomorrow night. I just need to get to the weekend to harvest.

Harvest basket full of tomatoes. Big yellow is a Gold Medal. The dark ones are either Paul Robeson or Cherokee/Lehoulier Chocolate . San Marzano and Blue Beech paste tomatoes. Sun sugar are the yellow cherry. Black are the brownish purple cherry. Perfection in Pink and Midnight Indigo are the two cherry tomatoes with super dark tops.

Oh the mosquitoes! I went out after work, and didn't grab my head net. Big mistake... thank goodness for cortisone cream.

We've had a resurgence in the tomatoes and temps look good for the next 2 weeks to get more that are still tasty.

To all the moms and dads out there listening to President Trump, do not be fooled.

Tylenol does not cause autism.
Vaccines do not cause autism.

Children with autism spectrum disorder are important just like any other children.

Multiple peer reviewed studies done by medical researchers indicate that Tylenol does not seem to be a cause of autism. But one heroin-addicted nepo baby says that it is. For pregnant mothers it can be hard to know who to trust.

Obviously, there's bigger news happening right now, but Senate Republicans just voted against releasing the Epstein files. Every Democrat voted to release them. Susan Collins was the deciding vote to protect Trump and others named in the files.

You can condemn murder and political violence without whitewashing Charlie Kirk's shameful history of hate, racism, white nationalism and promotion of dangerous conspiracies that radicalized Trump supporters to violence.

You can do both.

If you're a reporter, please stop referring to RFK Jr and his cronies as "vaccine skeptics." They're not skeptical. Skepticism would be fine. Skeptics look at evidence and can be persuaded.

These people are extremist anti-vaccine cranks, and that's how news organizations should describe them.

In any other administration (including Trump's first one), someone in the Pentagon would have said: "Mr. President, you cannot order the military to murder a bunch of people on a boat on the high seas."
Designating them "narco-terrorists" isn't a thing that lets you do that.

I found this beauty on my baptisia today. I wonder who made it. I'll be watching the area to see if we have an orb weaver. There were a few years we had both yellow black garden spiders and catfaced spiders, haven't seen either for several years.
