If you won't get a flu vaccine for yourself, get one for Grandma!

You may by young or relatively healthy, but by vaccinating yourself you not only protect yourself from more serious illness, you reduce the spread of flu in the community at large, which can protect people with more vulnerable immune systems from getting seriously ill.

Vaccines save lives. Unfortunately, Wisconsin's vaccination rates have been slipping in recent years.

This October, flu vaccinations are down nearly half a million compared to this time last year. If you haven't yet, I would encourage you to make an appointment to get yours as soon as possible.

Right now we have bullies strong arming cowards to prevent politicians from becoming leaders.

Let’s break the cycle.

A leader will take responsibility for solving problems they did not create.
A politician will take credit for solutions they did not devise.
A coward will blame others for the problems they refuse to solve.
A bully gains power from others’ pain

Our country needs more leaders.

If you find yourself in dire need of food resources during this shutdown, please contact 211.

Due to Republicans' unwillingness to negotiate on healthcare costs and reopen the gov't, it is likely that QUEST cards will become inactive on November 1st - even if funds remain in your account.

November benefits will be delayed for all participants - even if the shutdown is resolved this week.

The Trump Administration has informed Wisconsin DHS that federally funded food assistance (known as FoodShare) will run out of money next month. Those who receive FoodShare benefits are encouraged to stock up on non-perishable items BEFORE November 1st with whatever balance they have available.

At least 170 U.S. citizens have already been detained by immigration agents, including children. There's no telling how far this Administration will go if Congress does not act.

ICE is stockpiling arms, including chemical weapons, guided missile warheads and explosive components. The spending dwarfs anything we've ever seen in the agency - a 700% increase.

The President is building an army to attack his own country.

And yet, WI Republicans introduced bills that would allow concealed carry of firearms WITHOUT a permit, weaken background check requirements, exempt guns & ammo from sales tax, and create a constitutional amendment limiting our state's ability to enact gun reforms in the future.

This is ludicrous!

WI Republicans are trying to make our gun violence problem worse.

Hundreds of Wisconsinites die to gun violence every year - peaking at 818 in 2022. Large majorities have consistently supported common-sense gun reforms like universal background checks, red flag laws, and more.

We need leaders who are interested in solving problems that are too big for individuals to solve on their own. Unfortunately, it appears his Administration would rather cut critical services while giving massive windfalls to large corporations.

The President shared an AI-generated video of himself dumping tons of feces on Americans in major cities on social media this weekend, and I personally cannot think of a better metaphor for his presidency.

Yesterday I was proud to join with a bipartisan group of legislators in support of Ukrainian families that are being torn apart by the Putin Regime in Russia.

If passed, our Joint Resolution would make WI the first state to formally condemn Russia's cruel abduction of Ukrainian children.

A strong labor movement and worker protections in law is absolutely essential to ensure a basic standard of living for everyone - not just those who are blessed to be a part of a small group of wealthy elites.

CEOs at big companies fail all the time. They still make more money in a year than most of us will see in a lifetime. An average person can lose their entire livelihood over an injury, a sick kid, or even a social media post.

The hardest jobs that require the most back-breaking physical and emotional labor are some of the lowest-paying and least secure.

Our economy is built on scarcity. Scarcity of skills and scarcity of opportunities.

17.10.2025 15:28 β€” πŸ‘ 22    πŸ” 4    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

One of the most damaging myths about the American economy is that hard work translates to higher pay, and that people who are paid less don't work as hard as those who are paid more.

In reality, it's largely the opposite that's true.

Sadly, Republicans have refused to make the necessary investments in our colleges and universities to keep higher ed. affordable, saddling generations of students with crippling debt, and hindering our state's economy in the process.
