An excellent article that explains why GenAI produces flat, repetitive and soulless writing with β€œan abundance of verbs and adjectives and a clear shortage of nouns, a clear sign that they are going around in circles to say little.”

The fact a *single* Amazon full-time employee requires SNAP benefits should be a crime. The fact Amazon is the largest employer of SNAP recipients is a disgrace. Jeff Bezos shouldnt be that rich; he should be in jail.

The PM once championed a nuclear weapons ban. What happened? Anthony Albanese and Richard Marles once pledged Labor would sign a treaty to ban nuclear weapons. Why have they walked this back in government?

Bastards.

One, we're never going to shut up about this. Two, this
isn't an "I told you so." Here's a simple fact that those making
an AI inevitability argument do not want to reckon: it's not too
late. Resistance thrives on chaos, and this brand of
unmonitored chaos has never met the friction and
revolutionary spirit of academic freedom-perhaps the very
thing that will cause us to collectively remember that generative
AI has no meaningful place in writing pedagogy, no ability to
be implemented with integrity, and isn't even passably slay at
writing.
It is a thieving, hallucinating, biased, data-scraping, ecΠΎdestroying, surveillance bot that will never be able to reconcile
the receipts of its unethical origins. Not only are writing faculty
allowed to resist, we are now called to do so by our own morals
and steadfast, unabashedly idealistic belief in creative craft.
Make mine a pour over.

Our very own ACCC is taking Microsoft to court for tricking people into paying higher fees for AI garbage that no one asked for. You love to see it

I read this recently and was very disappointed. It’s a neoconservative view of the world with no acknowledgment of the role the US has played in creating the autocratic states she writes about. She’s also a massive Zionist and it shows in the book.

Filmmaker Guillermo del Toro says 'I'd rather die' than use generative AI Del Toro's new Frankenstein adaption reimagines Mary Shelley's 1818 Gothic novel. Frankenstein was like a tech bro: "creating something without considering the consequences," he explains.

β€œI am not interested, nor will I ever be interested. I'm 61, and I hope to be able to remain uninterested in using it at all until I croak. ... The other day, somebody wrote me an email, said, β€˜What is your stance on AI?’ And my answer was very short. I said, β€˜I'd rather die.’” 🫑

The biggest problem with the ALP right now is it is led by someone who irrationally hates the Greens.

He doesn't really like to "fight Tories"; he loves to fight the party that reveals his actual lack of "left-wing" positions.

Someone needs to tell him to get over his uni politics crap.
