23.04.2025 09:18 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0r/Hyderabad is not liberal at all. In fact, any subreddit which has Telugu people automatically leans right. Closeted bigots as someone called them.
23.04.2025 09:17 — 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Picked the worst day to check in on Twitter. TL filled with casual calls for genocide on Indian muslims. Expect to see this venom trickle down to your family whatsapp groups soon. The right wing eco system is extremely dangerous.
23.04.2025 04:45 — 👍 10 🔁 4 💬 3 📌 0Didn't like 'Empuraan,' but so glad that a mainstream filmmaker had the guts to take an unequivocal stand against Sangh parivar's communal politics. Prithvi deserves applause just for that. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
30.03.2025 07:42 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Three and a half films on Day 3. Magma, The Day of the Jackal (1973), half of Chatthrapathi and Santosh. A good way to end the festival, especially with Santosh. Wish Hyderabad had more film festivals.
23.03.2025 17:53 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0The other film is Boris Lojkine's 'Souleymane's Story.' A tight ninety minutes of engaging and empathetic storytelling. Recommended.
22.03.2025 17:23 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I could only squeeze in two films on day 2, but one of them is Michael Mann's 'Heat' on Hyderabad's biggest screen. A good day, indeed.
22.03.2025 17:20 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Day 1 is successfully completed with Missamma, Hysteria, Anora and Se7en. Still can't figure out how Anora won a Palme d'Or and an Oscar. Se7en, though, remains a 7/5 film. Missamma is funny and beautiful. Hysteria is a good watch.
21.03.2025 17:31 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0'This is very Haneke-esque,' I thought as I was watching Hysteria, and 5 seconds later a thick book with Haneke's face and name appears as a doorstop. Freaky. Good film. 👍🏽
21.03.2025 10:30 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Funnier than I remembered. Pingali Nagendra Rao's dialogues were the real star of the film.
21.03.2025 08:26 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0He's chatting with the anchor on stage while people are getting restless. The show is 25 minutes late. 🙄
21.03.2025 05:25 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Starting #RedLorryFilmFestival with a classic. Mr. Ramesh Prasad recounting tales of his late father Mr. L.V. Prasad. Waiting for the show to start 😬

05.03.2025 09:29 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Who'd have thought that the US and Europe would be on opposite sides in World War 3?
05.03.2025 04:37 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0It's baffling to me how Anora won both Palme d'Or and the Oscar. The last film to do that was Parasite.
04.03.2025 03:07 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0The Brutalist would have been my choice out of the nominees. But rightfully 'Challengers' should've been nominated and won.
03.03.2025 09:31 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0My boy Conan did well. The Academy, unsurprisingly, did not.
03.03.2025 09:28 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0In advance of the Oscars tonight: a lot of comedy heroes let you down. They become unfunny/bitter/closed minded. Conan is the exception. He has grown & evolved & is funnier than he’s ever been. He’s also an extremely kind and lovely human. Just a sincere post to say: Conan rules.

(..his wife and dog, too, sadly. RIP)
Has the Conclave oscar campaign gone too far?

16.02.2025 05:48 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Just finished reading Peter Biskind's 'Easy Riders, Raging Bulls.' I know a lot of it is exaggerated, but even the tamer stuff paints an unflattering image of the '70s new age auteurs. My biggest takeaway was that a lot of my favourite directors were just insecure, narcissistic perverts.
11.02.2025 16:45 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0If Basil Joseph's in a film, that's a good sign. Ponman is a fun film. Every two months, a Malayalam film comes out to remind us that the standards of Telugu cinema writing are in the gutter.
