As such, I don't think there is democracy in a real way in Israel to save. The entire thing needs to be built again with the political and military leaders investigated for crimes against humanity. The extreme regimes in opposition to Israel in the area are battered and weak now, also, so there.

I would say the apartheid system is a fundamental contradiction in the democracy that has rotted it to the core, allowing for the rise of Likud and the bad parts of Israeli government in that sense. The same way that tolerance of slavery rotted historical "democracies." And of course, the genocide.

In my view, the last potential amends that could've been made would've been Einstein taking the offer to be President.

At this point, I think it will have to be forced on Israel by boycott, blockade, and similar, just like South Africa. There is no sign of that government ever stopping on its own.

I do not think the persecution we faced justifies atrocity now. It makes it all the more despicable that we should have memories of what it is like to be a captive and persecuted people and then treat others the same way. Most of us know better, I hope. All oppression is a shared struggle.

There is no measurable representation in the Knesset by any Jewish politicians who are committed to a free and fair existence for all. Is this not the case? My understanding is that the only dissent in this vein has come from a tiny handful of Arab Muslim members.
