Finally built the Moon Gundam. Fantastic kit, and one of the best HG kits IMO.

No surprises as I'd built the Varguil last year, and it's nice to have the Varguil > Moon Gundam > Sazabi progression.

Me too, especially with food, as carbonated beers just make me feel overfull. Hope you enjoyed the Guinness friend!

I also painted some details I'd neglected the first time, like the rifle and club, the strap across the bars, and added her helmet.

And lastly I've included a previous attempt at her face, which is just yikes.

And the after. It's hard to take pics of all white kits. I had to really crank down the brightness for these.

I'm not sure how much it comes out in the pics, but the möwe looks a lot dirtier now.

Revisited an old kit I built in 2023 with a new (to me) weathering technique, using a Gundam weathering pen and a melamine sponge.

These first set of pics are the tools and the before pics. Sadly, not many and not great angles.

I will say though, that the J runner, which is a multi-color injection runner, is basically witchcraft. The wings and vertical stabilizers are each basically one piece, with the livery baked in. A great advance that I hope we'll see in other Gunpla.

Another Jenius build.

I have a love-hate relationship with the Macross kits. On one hand, they make such sleek-looking kits, especially in fighter mode. On the other hand, the color-correcting stickers (or decals) are hard to apply nicely.

The Guncannon Rollout color is a knock off. This month I felt really burnt out, though that wouldn't actually last all that long.

I just realized that I have these in the wrong order, and I build the Vidar first, then the Sazabi. I was still feeling a bit burnt out when I started the Vidar, and being color-blind, the UV decals were almost impossible for me to see on the plastic when I was placing them, leading to a lot of frustration with the build. Still, it's one mean-looking kit!

The Ez-SR was my first Build Fighters kit, and I absolutely love the "out of the box" custom MSes, which I can then further customize. I'd build the Zaku Amazing next month, and I have a Kampfer Amazing in my backlog. Some Ez-SR parts even made it on to my KO Pale Rider.

I think one of my most satisfying builds is the Zaku Amazing, for which the mantra "trust the process" kept me going, because man did I have doubts throughout the build. Very happy with how it turned out. Of course, the GQx and Police Zaku were absolutely fun to customize, but I've learned my lesson with home-printed decals. Next time I'll just us a decal-printing service.

The G-Line is a knock off.

The Nobel Gundam is a knock off, and also the parts I bought to customize it cost more than the kit. She's inspired by Mihono Bourbon, the Cyborg uma from Uma Musume Pretty Derby.

The Varguil and the Shia Qan[T] are knock offs. The Varguil is such a good knock off that it got me to buy the Moon Gundam, which will likely be my second build of the new year. My first build of the year will probably be Mirage's VF-31C, so I can put her valk up with her Mom's and Dad's.

The EG Nu is a luminous coat version that was available in convenience stores. The 1:200 Gundam came from a Strict G Gunpla hanger (not hangar).

The Gouf's flight pack is a KO of an Anubis Design 3d-printed part. The Zowort is based off of Houquet's Ride Armor from Genesis Climber MOSPEADA.

The Zaku is a knock off. Nausicaa is one of my favorite builds this year because of how different it was, and how much better it turned out compared to my Nausicaa on Mowe (which I really need to revisit; in fact, that might be the perfect candidate to try out pre-shading).

My second year back in the hobby, and it's been fun. I built a lot, got burnt out a bit, and really started upping my custom game.

For next year, I'd like to try pre-shading a kit, and certainly more customs.

Thanks! It's the light on the left shoulder. If you look closely it's a bit taller, but the difference is all but invisible on the shelf.

Some hiccups though. The home-printed decals were a bust, though I think I managed to make it work.

Also lost a police light, and had to fabricate one from scratch from a part of the runner. Pretty happy with how it turned out though.

Last build of the year, and my holiday builds complete. Inspo from Alphonse from Patlabor, which of course just uses Japanese National Police livery, abd specifically my second hometown Fukuoka.

Thanks! The ERA on the legs and pauldrons are part of the kit itself. I haven't watched any Build Fighters, but the pilot (?) of the Zaku Amazing uses tank parts to kitbash his Char's Zaku.

I'm really loving the Build Fighters series though, as I feel more inclined to kitbash and customize compared to more mainline universes (though my Gquuuuuux kits will all have custom colors).

Zaku Amazing Custom complete.

Had a last minute fumble with chipped paint on the right thigh, but I'll add a bit of silver there for some weathering.

Overall fun, but man the Zaku II is hard to pose. What you see here is pretty much the limit.

It is in fact from the Ez-SR, though making an articulating arm for it took a bit of digging through the parts bin.

Static poses only for this kit, as I've already broken one part, and one of the weapons is attached by hopes and dreams.

Unsatisfactory shield. Not only is the number crooked, but the finish is obviously ugly. Doubt I'll go back and fix it though, as it's not really noticeable on the shelf.

Broke the peg connector for the fuel tank and had to pin it. The right-side weapon used an anime figure knee ball joint to hold the weapon in the (drilled out) beam saber holder.

The rifle still needs to be finished, as I wasn't originally going to use it, and mounting the gatling gun was an 11th hour decision.

Or actually, a mash-up of it, the heavy weapon ground type, and the space type.

A worthy (if poorly painted) addition to my grunt squad.

I think I may need to add a Lightning Buster to my backlog.

Revamped the HG display with logical pairings (as much as possible). In theory making room as well, as I can now go 3-tier compared to my previous 2.

Of course, that means more crowding, but #gunpla problems I guess.

A quick project that is going on hiatus while some Titans decals come in.

It's a KO Pale Rider Titans D II, and as KO, I'm more than willing to cut off a beam saber holder and replace it with an articulating arm that holds a long auto cannon.
