Please don’t use our plights and fears to benefit yourself. It’s hard enough already.

I’m not upset due to lack of sales or engagement or anything like that, but because I saw a lot of authors (like myself) putting themselves out there in hopes of finding the audiences that we know would love our stuff, only to be forgotten once again. I guess most of that was just farming engagement

Post-election, there was a big call for BIPOC/LGBT/Neurodiverse authors to make themselves known, with claims of support and lists and events toward “supporting the works of these authors”.

Since then, I’ve yet to see or hear anything come out of that, and it makes me genuinely sad.
