Our product was incredible, I agree. I was a subscriber before I worked there. The original launcher with the spinning wheels is some of my favorite UX of all time. We had a VERY talented team.

I used to work for a company called GameTap, we were probably the first "Netflix for games," started around 2006. It didn't go well. I used to think the idea was ahead of its time, and maybe it was, but I also think times have changed and this no longer makes sense. 🧵

Just want to say that I have tremendous nostalgia for Gametap's whole deal. Steam Big Picture Mode is only starting to get close to matching the vibes of Gametap's launcher, and they're still probably never gonna quite get there.
