I got to meet Nicky Harman!!! If you'd told me two years ago that I would have spoken about my research in front of one of my translation heroes, I would have SCOFFED. And yet, strange things happen in this world. Many thanks to the Seamus Heaney Centre at Queen's for hosting Translation Day!

caring about ethics
Thirty-two years ago Carol Gilligan wrote a “Letter to Readers” which prefaced the new edition of her book In a Different Voice.
Another week, another attempt to write some nice-sounding blather - this week, about my reactions to learning about ethics of care and the strange connections it led me to (which I will not include in my thesis)

I can't believe my luck - two women I look up to, in the same room, teaching things that I want to learn! Very much looking forward to this, thanks to @writingchinese.bsky.social for organizing!
