i just remembered @johnaugust.bsky.social and i considered the name Bird Play for Birdigo, which wouldve made bundling it with @gamemakerstoolkit.com's Word Play that much sweeter

Yes! In fact the game is loosely based on the physical card game AlphaBirds, also created by John August alphabirdsgame.com

They had enough differences to warrant a new name (not to mention distinguish it from Angry Birds and Alphabear)

Yesterday my 7-year-old son said: Tomorrow is Birdigo Day! And since we've logged 47.2 hours playing the DEMO alone, buying @johnaugust.bsky.social's delightful, relaxing, compulsively playable game had to be how we started our day today.

When you realise that someone else is making a very similar game to you, it can feel pretty demoralising...

But then we ended up chatting to each other, shared codes, supported each other's launches, and put the games together into a Steam bundle!
