Just known too many folks who felt they had to give up reading due to the problems around physical ownership due to accessibility of one type or another.

Its something in the paper they use for newspapers.

I'm allergic to newsprint.
I haven't been able to handle a news paper since I was about 8?

I cannot read a book I cannot take with me.
I cannot read a book I cannot open.

And mould allergies!

STOP trying to gate-keep how people engage with books.
Physical or digital makes NO difference.
What matters is that people are reading.

I am about to be that person.
Answer: Because moving every few years with my books was prohibitively expensive.
Because carrying the books I needed in a day for clases in my mid 20s and 30s injured my hip.
Because some days, arthritis will not let me hold a book, but it will a phone.

This appears to be the ICE playbook, go to Mexican/Latino/Hispanic restaurants - arrest people who are just trying to make a living, leave a mess behind and then just leave the place wide open. It happened in Kansas City too.
