This is the look shared between a group of cats or a group of software devs when someone says they see an interesting bug.

We cannot all be experts in everything! Most folks cannot follow every senate or house vote or whatnot and rely on their reps to make those decisions for them and explain their stances.

Monopolies are bad, yโ€™all.

A market with a player that controls a low single digit fraction of it isnโ€™t really a market.

Having a fun time showing someone that the WM (waste management) logo looks like the Weyland Yutani logo.

Riding the Color Line: How race built Atlantaโ€™s MARTA system MARTAโ€™s routes, reach and reputation were defined as much by race as by ridership, leaving a legacy of inequity that still shapes how Atlantans move โ€” or donโ€™t move.

SAM NEILL

GENERAL JOHN MACARTHUR

If you were to commit a murder,

how would you do it?

It's got to be big! No slipping

something into someones drink, that's just

pathetic. I'd use a steamroller, just leave a

stain on the road. There's probably a couple

of people I'd put under a steamroller,

but I won't say who they are, otherwise

when they see a steamroller coming

their way they'll be on full alert. And

steamrollers don't go very fast...

Never forget that time Sam Neill gave a quote about murder that was so beautifully kabonkers, we all assumed it was a Clickhole bit initially

My friend told me that her 14 year old son started doing laundry on Sundays for some of his elderly neighbors. He doesn't charge for the labor. And now he is the most popular person in the building and has non stop pies, cookies, and cake. The 14 year old should be our model of modern masculinity.

This is a big deal. Still lots of work to do, but it matters that the court has recognized that HB900 is utterly, finally, indisputably unconstitutional. Now we just need to get Texans and lawmakers to stop listening to the people who pushed this dumb law.

Also, they didnโ€™t post & delete it because they want it to be gone. They did it as a strategyโ€”more people will search it up (using inflammatory terms next to Mamdaniโ€™s name so those searches to become โ€œsuggestedโ€) & it leverages the pull of forbidden fruit (eg โ€œthey donโ€™t want you to see this!โ€)

I donโ€™t talk about it much because the situation doesnโ€™t really change but itโ€™s still insane to me what an enormous amount of really talented game developers are out of work. just whole studios worth of incredible people, often people who worked on beloved games, unemployed.

Wouldn't it be fun if the Tesla shareholders voted against his compensation package because of this?

Board votes on Nov. 6th, by the way.

And climate change is going on and songbird numbers continue to drop and the price of insulin is still criminal and FEMA still hasnโ€™t deployed to Alaska.

We are allowed to care about many things at once.

anyway it is just fascinating that this has somehow become some proxy battle over โ€œmenโ€ and โ€œidentity politicsโ€ where the critics represent โ€œwoke overreachโ€ but as far as i can see it the strong attachment is pure identity politics! and i think the discourse would be better if people just said that
