05.02.2026 00:46 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0If this comes fruition it would be huge. Thatβs 219 tons per day. Larger than most H2 facilities in America using natural gas to make hydrogen.
28.01.2026 20:29 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0To imply that switching to hydrogen would exacerbate globally warming is like saying if a fly flew his fastest and crashed into an elephant, he would knock the elephant 10 yards off his feet. The logic conflates to fundamentally different things; it's as bad as flat earth theory.
21.01.2026 17:55 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This framing is far from relevant, it should have a context warning. If the implication is to cause pause when considering #hydrogen for energy, then the implication is off base. If we switched from a fossil fuel based economy to a hydrogen based economy human GHGs would drop approx 98% globally.
21.01.2026 17:55 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 3 π 0If you don't support all of the above & think that one thing wears a halo and another wears devil horns, it only means you have more to learn about energy, sustainability, and economics. I troll such nonsense for the good of the planet.
21.01.2026 17:44 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It's mental gymnastics to pretend one is greener than other w/ framing far from objective. Canada could add 100s of coal plants to make solar & batteries never coming close to the 100 exajoules China burns. You would never support it but gladly pretend it's not fossil fuel dependent and sustainable.
21.01.2026 17:44 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0That bias is deep. Framing is not objective. Would you support building coal plants in Nova Scotia to make solar panels or smelt nickel? Or is the stance that if you outsource that to China, you can pretend its green? If you say its ok to burn coal to make green energy, you should support it at home
21.01.2026 17:44 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Please don't research how batteries and solar panels are made. Better to just pretend when they come of the boat they're green.
21.01.2026 00:35 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Anything written by CleanTechnica is 'fake news'. Anything written by Barnard about hydrogen on CT is next level garbage. This hydrogen pipeline has really got Barnard bothered. How dare 60 sovereign countries including the G8 draft comprehensive hydrogen policies against Barnard's wishes.
21.01.2026 00:31 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Because there's nothing funnier than the absurd truth.
21.01.2026 00:25 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0China is structurally dependent on coal for decades to come. China burns 40% more coal the entire rest of the world combined. China has added more coal capacity then ROW combined for over 10 straight yrs and continues to add more than ROW combined. Permitting of new coal plants continues in 2026.
16.01.2026 15:04 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's not fair for people to lay the blame on hydrogen refueling on Toyota. There was a gaseous delivery issue that impacted all stations that use compressed gas storage - Not Toyota's fault. There was an LCFS policy issue that impacted pricing - Not Toyota's fault. Both issues are resolved now.
15.01.2026 16:27 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's big step and shows such a diversification of tech, especially in Germany. Working for a German Tier 1 OEM now, I am seeing the Germans leading in ways that don't show up in a lot of stats. They're building an entire ecosystem of suppliers & products for the hydrogen economy.
14.01.2026 00:22 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0These are the nuts holding back progress on reducing emissions. All they do is allow fossil fuels to burn unabated. Recognizing we are all dependent on fossil fuels is the first step to reducing dependency. Just like alcoholism. Carrying protest signs & singing kumbaya is not a solution.
13.01.2026 18:30 β π 1 π 2 π¬ 0 π 1Using batteries poses risks. Using natural gas poses risks. Using coal poses risks. Doing nothing poses risks.
13.01.2026 18:26 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Don't forget solar & wind too. China dominates all new energy technology. They supply the entire globe in solar, wind, and batteries (especially the upstream & midstream supply chains)

07.01.2026 19:29 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0RMP just released a curated map of North American lithium projects, showing active & in-development sites by extraction type (solar ponds, clay, DLE, hard-rock). Explore the icons, learn the methods, and see the near-term lithium supply: www.respectmyplanet.org/publications...

Also the same with solar panels, batteries, microwave ovens, home appliances, etc. :)
18.12.2025 16:50 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0RMP posted a three-part series on how unethical the author of this post is. You should consider anything written by Michael Barnard "Fake News". If you want to read about Barnard's lack of journalistic integrity, check it out:

The Detroit News article is behind a paywall. But just re-read it again and the Europe angle is less defined on EREV. Just states that Ford signed an agreement last week to work on EVs with Stellantis. Also the quote below.
16.12.2025 16:36 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I should clarify... Scout's North American Engineering HQ is out my window in Novi Michigan. The Scout EREV powertrain system is being designed & developed in Baden-WΓΌrttemberg region of Germany. Scout EREV will be built in Spartanburg North Carolina.
16.12.2025 14:39 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Today's Detroit News has a story of Ford taking a $19.5B write down to exit much of the EV market and focus on EREVs & hybrids. Article said phenomenon is happening in Europe too. Scout engineering HQ is out my window. We are working with Scout on their EREV. EREVs are just like FCEVs in concept.
16.12.2025 14:34 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Data is updated monthly. The woman at the office that runs the report each month has been out on maternity leave so my last report is June 2025. The most interesting thing in last couple months is the major shift from EV to EREV which bodes well for fuel cell vehicles. An EREV is similar to an FCEV.
16.12.2025 13:47 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Article sounds like batteries are simple and hydrogen is complicated. But, how are the batteries made? Are there any steps upstream from just charging the battery? Like crushing rock, acid leaching it, transporting to China for refining, and shipping it outside of China before it can be charged?
10.12.2025 22:54 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0short answer: no
:)
Unfortunately, hydrogen is a lightning rod topic for unreasonable positions on both sides. I am very pro hydrogen with a keen understanding of real challenges. But those who are anti-hydrogen will attack hydrogen no matter what.
04.12.2025 14:44 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0While there are several examples of making hydrogen with water instead of fossil fuels, there is no example of making batteries without coal. Coal is a critical part of the battery supply chain.
02.12.2025 17:24 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Maybe we can build more mines, smelting operations, and coal plants to make batteriesβ¦ ya know, like the way theyβre made now in China. Although, itβs harder to pretend theyβre green if you have to see how theyβre made.
02.12.2025 17:18 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0High volume hydraulic fracturing has returned to Michigan. RMP will watch this new well & completion like a hawk. Read about the new well in our latest post published Wednesday November 26, 2025.
