The Golden Compass. They opted to cut the film before the book’s ending so we didn’t get the great betrayal. I’ve never gotten over it.

A close up, outdoor photo of a white woman and her whippet. The woman has on a blue hat and neck warmer, and a green coat. The whippet has a red coat with fleece snood attached, and he is chewing on a soft orange ball. There’s green grass and trees in the background.

Stripes and I, endeavouring to stay warm on this morning’s walk. Layers! Lots of layers.

It’s so hard to have a reasonable conversation about AI, because people refuse to see the massive upsides of job elimination, higher electrical bills, hard drive shortages, poisoning black people in Memphis, and an economy where a handful of pedos with bad hair control your life

I suspect some degree of learned apathy from the likes of banks, energy and telecom companies, when it was hard to change. I mean some people even offered it as a personal service!

This reminds me of how Duolingo works, gamifying the system isn’t too difficult (if you can afford slack time of course). Given the names and photos compared to actual delivery people on some apps, I suspect most users do this already.

A reminder that if you live in England or Wales & were born between 1970-1990 – or even before 1970 – you can help protect your community by getting the MMR vaccine free from your NHS GP now. I did last year. www.nhs.uk/vaccinations...

The UK was declared measles free in 2017.

Vaccine programs completely eliminated it.

Since then, pro sickness conspiracy theorists and anti science idiots have enabled its return.

This also crossed my mind when Chadwick Boseman died. Did he carry on working bc he loved the work, or bc he needed to provide as much as possible for his family?

Stop Palantir taking over our public services! Our public services aren’t for a secretive profit-hungry US tech firm. Sign the petition to tell the Government to scrap all contracts with secretive US tech firm Palantir.

Palantir, a US spy-tech firm, has been given access to millions of NHS patient records.

Its founder has said the NHS should be 'ripped up'.

Join me in calling on the government to end the dangerous Palantir contract.

Green light produces antinociception by activating glutamatergic neurons in VLGN, and red light promotes nociception by activating GABAergic neurons in the ventral lateral geniculate body (VLGN)
This works with normal LED strips you can get online! Just set them to pure green and relax :)
Note: The newer human trial was less rigorous, but involved 698 participants who were classified as
"responders" or "non responders." Headache improved in 55% of all 3,232 attacks, in 82% of the 1,803 attacks treated by responders, and in 21% of the 1,429 attacks treated by non-responders.
