A cute terrier sniffing at a corn stalk in a very, incredibly green hillsy setting

Volunteer corn popped up by the stream, seeds spread probably from last year's harvest in nearby fields. Plants are cool

Having a rough one, so I'm cheering myself up by looking up what's good on Night Flight for tonight's viewing. Check this out, never heard of it before but damned if it isn't speaking right to my interests

Oh yeah. Well, dwindling now but a lot of them after the revolution went "oh no we were never with THAT crazy guy, we're the good communists, we swear". They are as much a reason as he is why "good communists" is speculative fiction

It's actually old Romanian mythology! Saturday's Waters is the name of the river that springs from the roots of the tree of life, circles the world nine times collecting all the other waters, and then pours into the afterlife. Saint Saturday is its patron. Caring for it is her job.

One of the old communist leaders of Romania tipped the priest yesterday, and the nation-wide celebration is so uplifting.
And before you tell me that we're not allowed to celebrate monsters passing, I just want to remind you that *this one* went naturally. We celebrated even harder for the other one

Hang on that's just a snack :)) I... would and do eat that just to eat it. A little lard on fresh baked bread, sprinkled with sweet paprika and salt, is basically our traditional breakfast :))

Wait I just remembered the worst one: pickled cabbage leaves! For a fever! On the chest under your shirt, and inside your socks.
I am still to this day absolutely *horrified* by even just the thought of having cold and damp feet. I cannot. I can't. I will not. Shan't. No. Nu-uh

Remembering old remedies today, and I think one of our weirdest was making red&yellow onion peel tea for coughs. Super pungent, foul-smelling concoction.
Still doesn't make me recoil as badly as lemon slices dipped in sugar for a sore throat. Love lemons! But dipped in sugar? never again.

Writers who have ever only had antagonistic feedback will think this sounds absurd because their experiences left them feeling drained and unmotivated. Maybe had them quitting entire projects altogether. So I suppose it's also fair to say that when it's bad, it is a destroyer of sum total energy
