My unpopular ruralist opinion: with protected bicycle lanes, it's possible to create a parallel infrastructure for bicycles, ebikes, and even public, small electric trams like in zoos so as to provide access to services for rural's aging population. Enforcement of use is key. Same as urban lanes.

My unpopular urbanist opinion: anyone commenting on ebike speeds should try riding the sharrows in Southern California.
