I’m at a rally/vigil for Renee Good and other victims of Trump administration violence here in Richmond VA. Several hundred in attendance at Maggie L. Walker Plaza despite the nasty rain.

Before defaulting to “It could have been any of us,” slow down and sit with this: A lesbian couple was targeted and one of them was executed after the other dared to exercise her 1st Amendment rights.

UNARMED WOMAN: “Shame on you.”

ICE GOON: “Have you not learned from the past few days?”

UNARMED WOMAN: “Learned what? What’s our lesson?”

Let’s stop pretending. He got insulted by lesbians and was already prepared to shoot. That isn’t a mistake or panic. That’s hate. This was a hate crime.

Reports and videos show ICE agents asking American citizens whether they’ve “learned their lesson over the last few days” are deeply troubling. Language like this implies intent and raises serious questions about premeditation and mindset on the scene.

I was just denied access to the ICE processing center at the Whipple Building.

Members of Congress have a legal right and constitutional responsibility to conduct oversight where people are being detained.

The public deserves to know what is taking place in ICE facilities.

He is a homophobic & misogynistic christian male. She was a gay woman with her masc lesbian wife speaking out for the vulnerable. His inability to dominate them made him feel small, so he reacted emotionally. This was a hate crime. But police brutality & dehumanisation are nothing new to lesbians.🥀

He felt emasculated because neither of the women were afraid of him. It is unbelievable the number of people who are perfectly fine with her saying " ... I'm not mad at you" and him blowing her brains out

He executed her because her wife hurt his feelings. And made him look like a pussy. He executed her and drove away.

Here's the thing. Violence isn’t required, because autocracy depends on compliance...not force alone. When people withdraw consent through mass noncooperation, institutions holding, and legitimacy collapse, power evaporates. History shows regimes fall when obedience stops, not when bloodshed starts.

There are some 20-30k ICE agents. There are approximately 250 million adults in the United States. The idea that we are helpless...is the biggest load of bullshit mindset one can have.
