I'd be super interested to know how you find the book once you've read a decent amount of it. Been looking at this myself but am starting to become reasonably happy with how I annotate games now-a-days.

Why on Earth would you play the Alapin when you can have this much fun playing the Open Sicilian? I lost and both my opponent and I made a bunch of blunders but man this was a fun game to play!

I saw Holly McNamara and Canberra United in the same post and for a second I thought Canberra had just pulled off the signing off the season!

Is there anything more frustrating than taking your time and really thinking through each move you make in a classical game of chess and still being beaten by someone who plays it like a blitz game? 😩

Have you used any of Chessly's courses? If so how did you find it/them? On a personal note I find I prefer a good book to Chessable for openings but that said I have found Chessable excellent for learning a whole repertoire (as opposed to just one opening).

Fair enough, but I mean it can't be that difficult to implement a way of showing castling is still available, ChessTempo do it, and it just makes things more user friendly IMHO.

Maybe 3.Raf1 that way if 3...Qe5+ White has 4.Rhf4 and if 3...Rxf8 then 4.Rxf8.

Ugh, this is just one reason why I love/hate chess so much 🤣

But, of course, then I need to find a better third move for White given that result!
