Unpopular teacher opinion: I don’t want this year to end.
I’ve grown so attached to my gr. 8s this year, it kills me that we have 1 week left. Never have I had a group of students AND parents, fit my teaching style and personality so perfectly. This group is something special

Decided early in the year to change some rubrics by using Gen Z slang, hoping my kiddos would use them more. Little did I know that a parent would get such a kick out of them that they made me a hoodie for a year end gift. Needless to say, I loved it as soon as I opened it.

Exactly. This is not happening to me, but a couple of my intermediate team members. One of which has been constantly sick this year. The daily stress is destroying their light and it’s awful to see. The other one has given up coaching teams b/c they feel unappreciated. I don’t blame them.

Why can’t Admin understand that constantly sending kids back to class with no consequences for their behaviour is just setting themselves and the teacher’s classroom up for even more chaos down the road? Or that it sends a signal to the student that their behaviour is okay? 🤬🤬🤬🤬
