04.08.2025 21:24 β π 401 π 87 π¬ 1 π 0Some highlights from my weekend screener notes:
* Did not have "getting Rick-Rolled by a foreign movie" on my bingo card in 2025
* Did we ever name the subgenre of "lapsed Catholics getting supernaturally messed with because they're lapsed Catholics"?
* Is it bad I want to eat at Buffet Infinity?
KC Film Fans:
This might be one of the biggest things I mention that the community needs to rise up & help. Currently in Kansas City there is no place to see 35mm (or 70mm) & so Screenland Armour is trying to rectify that, but they need your help to make it happen!

One of those absolutely fun things about having arthritis your entire life, is remembering to manage yourself more on days when there's an excessive heat index day (today was 105*) & then factoring in that you have a manual labor job... I won't be moving these joints for the next day or so. Fun.
29.07.2025 00:04 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I've watched several film
screeners & the UNTIL DAWN movie (the wife really wanted to watch it) over the weekend and it seems like 2025 might be the year of exploding bodies in films.
Not sure what that means, but I might have had my fill for a few months.

You sweet and lucky soul. I very much remember this movie. This, Raggedy Ann & Andy: A Musical Adventure & Little Nemo: Adventures In Slumberland are films that haunted my mind and felt as if they were made by people on a metric ton of hallucinogenics.

You know you're in good hands when @thejoelynch.bsky.social is on the big screen at Screenland Armour for @nightmarejunkhead.bsky.social's Friday Night Frights!
This week's screening: AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON
Glad this week is finally in a breathable state, as it's been a mess. Wife went in for major surgery on Tues, which involved being at the hospital for 12 hours. Wed she was in pain throughout & led to a 14 hour ER visit on Thurs & now she's doing better, able to rest easily & actually start recovery

Every article about someone falling in love with an LLM is just about Dr. Krieger and his hologram waifu

Backyard movies are so back at the @nightmarejunkhead.bsky.social home base & things are kicking off with a movie that would make @thejoelynch.bsky.social remind you that HBO stands for "Hey, Beastmaster's On!"
13.07.2025 01:48 β π 14 π 2 π¬ 1 π 1my wife is having a major surgery on Tuesday and will be out of commission for a bit, so I asked her what she wanted to do this weekend...so we are now getting haircuts together from the wonderful & immensely talented @jillsixx.bsky.social!
12.07.2025 17:31 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Hadn't watched this movie in ages. What a delight! The image looks great in 4K! Also forgot a subplot involves a middle eastern country wanting to lessen its dependence on oil & develop a strain of wheat that can be grown in the desert...& also features a school of psychic children drawing Godzilla

Well, dear reader, without hesitation I said "it would need to be better than SPEED RACER" (and I freaking love SPEED RACER)
It might be 2am, but when @thejoelynch.bsky.social sends a special video message to Screenland Armour before a FRIDAY THE 13TH (πΆThank God It's FridayπΆ) Mystery Double, imploring people to watch FRIDAY THE 13TH PART V: A NEW BEGINNING, then you sacrifice sleep and you do that...if you're me.

FRIDAY THE 13TH: THE FINAL CHAPTER.
A perfectly magical double feature
It's Friday the 13th, which means I'm out at Screenland Armour in KC, where @nightmarejunkhead.bsky.social are hosting a SOLD OUT (!!) FRIDAY THE 13TH double feature mystery roulette.
What films will be shown? Who knows but it will be amazing.
It's only June and it feels as if this year has been 3 bad ones smashed together. Just too many overwhelmingly distraught things compiling on top of each other. Hate admitting but that's just where things are now. I just want to be able to breathe easily for one day.
