When Team Rodimus narrowly escapes the Functionist universe version of Cybertron, Drift finds himself left behind and, as far as he knows, completely on his own. A few weeks later, when Megatron pilots the Last Light through the spacetime rift above Mederi, Drift is with him, and Ratchet is elated to be reunited with his new conjunx. But something is clearly not right, and Ratchet is soon horrified to discover that Drift has lived through 819 years while they were apart. He seems reluctant to talk about what happened to him, and Ratchet has never been very good at feelings, anyway. As the crew of the Lost Light parts ways and moves into the next stage of their lives, just how much have things changed, and what will it take for the two of them to make things work as they set out to build a future together?
