I suspect bad gadget (phone/tablet/laptop) experiences, which everyone has had, contribute to this poisoning of discourse.
As it turns out, investing in better battery management, as most cars have done, does wonders for battery health. The old Leaf didn't and I hear it's pretty terrible...

Instead of keeping her dignity, she's pawned it off. And she's still not getting a free country in return.

Freaking stainless steel pots and pans are basically indestructible to a dishwasher. I have a few cheapos that are 20 years old, which I hate because the handles collect water, and they just last forever, depriving me of an opportunity to replace them.

Not impossible, but rather unlikely for such a statement to be put out on a Saturday.

Brazil having a more robust democracy than the US was definitely not on my bingo card for the 2020s.

Cell networks were iffy from the moment power went out, I couldn't make a single call until after the power came back an hour ago. Data services were wildly unstable, then everything stopped in the middle of the afternoon.

I dunno how it flew under my radar, it's somehow campier than the zero-budget ZFS promo/demo video with the mountain of swag-grade USB flash drives in RAIDZ1.

It's a surprisingly poorly-documented fact that Thunderbolt cables do in fact work as standard USB cables, despite the bespoke fancy drivers that enable longer runs. I think I had to try it on a whim to find out that they did work.

We kinda have that in Portugal, except it's not strictly tied to the domestic electricity provider (though bundles do exist). Single contract works everywhere with an RFID or NFC card and it mostly works great...
Except that they screwed up the billing model in ways that inflate the price.

Peak Federation hubris, but it reminds me of the Burger King truck. It's power projection through the power of "fuck you, we do it because we can". Between the Borg and the Dominion, that little experiment didn't last all that long in the scheme of things.

700 W seems to be on the low end of what's typically on the shelves. 750 W to 900 W is common enough.

Maybe if ESA and the EU stopped financing endless dissemination platforms that offer no meaningful improvements and compete against each other to see who can waste the most public money creating yet another platform with this year's buzzword du jour attached...
