10 hours at the Austin Airport-flights delayed bc republican shutdown)United let me to buy a lounge pass- but then refused to honor it! Finally got on the plane-Taxied-then pilot announced he was too sick to fly so back to the gate we went.
Vino Volo was a superstar. A lovely French Rose.

British Airways lounge Gatwick. What I have learned here is that these potato chips are essentially our version of barbecue potato chips.

Bilbao airport – VIP lounge. As you know, I do love an offbrand lounge. I have no idea why these little nubbins of stale dough are labeled "tex mex" . I'm not brave enough to taste them.

Madrid airport-Dali VIP lounge at the crack of dawn. I love this Jaunty popcorn display but it doesn't say breakfast to me. Not tempted to drink, but I did ask if there were any bloody Mary's available and was told that they don't appear until noon. there is a lot of lurid rosé and a ton of beer.

AA Greenwich lounge at JFK. I walked by this bloody Mary station twice! It has gin, tequila, vodka, and nonalcoholic gin. Trying to decide whether or not I should partake.

AA Greenwich lounge at JFK. Besides the usual mundane Chardonnay and an offbrand Sauv Blanc that I'm not really brave enough to taste – there is this DIY set up. Not pictured are three types of vodka -I'm tempted, but the garnishes (lemons and olives)look miserable

I have approximately zero following on this app, sharing in the hopes it can get in front of the right person. A man I went to college with’s wife was kidnapped by ICE at a green card hearing, and he’s trying to find a reporter who will speak to him about the situation

Iberian lounge Madrid airport. Had a very tight connection so I could only do a drive-by. Did manage to have a quick slurp of this very lackluster Verdejo.

American/British Airways lounge Greenwich. The food is the usual chicken thigh sludge, but one bright spot appears to be these tea sandwiches!

Iberian air got me entry to the AA/BA Greenwich lounge at JFK -- their " least good " apparently but my favorite. This quaffable rose is on offer (self serve, which is my favorite kind of serve) as is piper heidsack champagne!

Delta lounge CVG airport-- THIS is how you know that the Cincinnati airport is actually in Kentucky!!

Delta lounge LGA. The bar opened up five minutes ago and the bartender has already gone through two bottles of Prosecco. I opted for a bloody Mary instead.

Delta lounge LGA. Crack of dawn. There is this sad abandoned pancake station… Bar opens in five minutes. There is already a line.

Venice airport Marco Polo lounge. This is the far more typical ode to bread at an offbrand European lounge.

Rainy Venice morning--Marco Polo Airport lounge. These cheese and meat bureks are on offer – about as stodgy as they look. The wine is surprisingly not self serve – a typical for a European lounge – but it appears to be a local fruity Soave. Not great, but not horrible.

United airlines Polaris lounge EWR--in honor of the Spanish inspired buffet I decided to try the Albariño on offer and it's a tad sweet but not bad!

United lounge AGAIN – but this time it's Polaris! The bar has the always drinkable if somewhat uninteresting, whispering angel – and this rice is on offer. It looks neither summery or nearly as festive as the confetti would imply…

United lounge MSY. There is also this "flatbread with arugula"that is giving off very serious pizza in a middle school cafeteria vibes – complete with the not completely melted cheese…

United lounge MSY. Again this is a pay to play lounge. The wine selection – even the premium ones – is pretty dire. Three different Chardonnays and a "white blend". So we're having martinis instead. This is the food on offer. I have no idea what seasonal enhancements means…

United Club EWR. These sandwiches are probably the most exotic thing on the breakfast buffet. They do have that dried out I've been here for five or six hours look ...

United club lounge at Newark. This is one where you have to pay to play. There is a house white and a house red – this is a premium rosé for about seven bucks a glass. Certainly not the worst thing I've ever drunk on a Wednesday morning.

all I can say about HUNTING WIVES is that if they spin off a series featuring Wanda Salazar I am SO there for it
