Sorry to hear that, youโre welcome to try Spotify again - weโre always improving the desktop app!
02.12.2025 16:57 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Open the album, hit cmd+a (Mac) ctrl+a (Win) to select all the tracks, then either right click or drag them all to the liked songs playlist on the right. Should work!
01.12.2025 16:27 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Maybe if it happens again, try and grab your logs using the help menu and send them to me in a DM ๐
26.11.2025 14:26 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Do you have any examples of specific local files that cause breakage, or any other way to reproduce this?
25.11.2025 14:19 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0Maybe the web player would use less resources overall for you? Ironically what youโre seeing is because of a performance optimisation - it allows you to scroll before the data to โdecorateโ each item is loaded.
15.10.2025 22:02 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Anything I can help with? Depending on your bandwidth, you shouldnโt really be seeing this (ideally). How often does it happen?
15.10.2025 21:48 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0We more often see the other complaint, that everything is too large! One thing you can do now without waiting for changes is increase the zoom level in the settings?
30.09.2025 19:14 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0If you click the little arrows at the top right of the library you can basically make the library full screen, hopefully that helps? Also play with the new layout options a bit, you get a few options there like compact/grid etc
Otherwise would love to hear the first change youโd make if you could?
Fair callout, that was perhaps an older intention.
I think over time itโs harder to maintain with more than a few contributors. Nobody is going to argue against giving the new clickable thing more affordance, the older standards become harder to justify on accessibility grounds.
We try to follow rule 2 and use cursor:pointer when something behaves like a link, but yeh could definitely do better on consistency there.
25.09.2025 16:59 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Weโre kinda trying to build the best music player on any desktop platform!
Not to say our Linux support couldnโt be improved, it can for sure.
A surprising amount of people have asked for it over the years ๐
12.09.2025 08:49 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0We definitely have lyrics and video? Maybe youโre due an update?
Hopefully the discover weekly tweaks are coming soon ๐
You can set it up to more closely resemble the old desktop app, expand library, use compact mode etc.
There were a few things the old app did extremely well, but hundreds of things it did not and could never (like accessibility).
Iโm the idiot btw ๐
Thatโs kind of you to say! Wondering if itโs mainly about quality / stability for you? Saw your follow up post.
11.07.2025 13:50 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Which version is this? I wonder if itโs an unsupported operating system.
10.07.2025 18:09 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Sorry about that. I hope the experience of using Spotify on an old computer is otherwise ok.
10.07.2025 17:56 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Thatโs not normal for sure. We recently release a way to reset the entire app data through the โhelp > troubleshootingโ menu that might help here.
08.07.2025 12:16 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Would love to learn more about the desktop app not working. Are both it and windows fully up to date? (assuming windows here)
07.07.2025 15:40 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Just to quickly follow up. I did report this! Apparently this version might technically be a rerelease with added tracks, which is why it was delivered as a compilation.
This should get fixed, but the wheels can turn a little slowly. Thanks for noticing!
Thatโs not good and definitely below the standard Iโd expect. If something specific happens in future do let me know, and if thereโs a way to recreate the problem weโll make sure to fix it
24.06.2025 17:07 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0It looks like it has been delivered as a compilation rather than an album, so isnโt appearing there with the album filter on. Select โallโ rather than โalbumsโ in the drop down menu in the top right of your pic to see it.
Thatโs odd. Iโll see if that can be corrected!
Although the two apps share a lot (as much as possible really) they have different playback and data stacks, and the desktop one allows us to do some things a lot more easily.
15.06.2025 18:18 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Is this satire? I genuinely canโt tell ๐
You also canโt absolve the local unionist (more recently loyalist) political leadership either here.
Desktop is still pretty configurable, and you can set it up to look a bit like it did 10 years ago, ignore the home page and focus on library!
Check out the shortcuts too, e.g. cmd+k is a nice way to get around if you know what you want.
Curious what core functionality you think is degraded?
Would love to know more about your experiences here, especially re stability.
13.06.2025 14:00 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0What first change would you like to make, if you could?
12.06.2025 16:26 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Thereโs a bit of a story behind your first question there!
I think the value of real human connections is becoming more appreciated again though. Especially now that access to โAIโ is becoming democratised, human connection should become more valued.
Youโre most welcome!
09.06.2025 13:32 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0You can disable it via either right click and show the artwork, or disable canvas altogether from settings ๐
