Knot theory is a growing field with deep ideas and surprising connectionsโand in my new piece for @sciam.bsky.social, you can try it out yourself through interactive puzzles!
I had so much fun with this new format. Hope you enjoy it too!
My new favorite quote about AI:
โThe entire paradigm makes no guarantees about what it will do in novel contexts. [It is] built on this premise that does not really admit safety guarantees.โ -Alex Cloud

Funky fact about the way that AI learns. I had a lot of fun writing this piece for @sciam.bsky.social
Writing stories like this for @sciam.bsky.social, and getting to speak to all the people involved who are brilliant and so committed to making other people's lives better always gives me hope. I hope you all enjoy! ๐งช๐ง
14.08.2025 15:07 โ ๐ 31 ๐ 7 ๐ฌ 5 ๐ 3It's a weekly seminar held at the CUNY Graduate Center. We have talks, workshops, discussions, etc. all about topics in math education and communication. Some sessions are focused on prepping for teaching or talks, others are aspirational, and some are just fun, like our math art show-and-tell!

Some mathematicians: "Why 'quietly???'" "I was just at [niche math conference] and it was all anybody talked about!"
Many non-mathematicians: "Wow that's so interestingโ โmathematicians do research? I never thought about that!"
