Something else that's important is what the "enjoyer/creator" actually has to say on the topic.

My mom initially banned my sister and I from reading The Hunger Games because it depicted child soldiers. She missed the fact that it was a COMMENTARY on such things.

Issue is you can't always tell if someone understands nuance based off of short interactions with them. Don't claim they don't based off of assumption

These decisions are usually 'minor' enough that I don't notice it, I just get frustrated later that I feel like there wasn't a Deciding Point.

I often experience the feeling of decisions being made for me, without my input. Like I'm a video game character and not the player. The player might choose something while I'm not conscious that a decision is happening, or it might be part of a cutscene.
