It's not hard to be braver and have more integrity than a billionaire or a GOP senator, and it's clear the job of opposing authoritarianism and destruction will be largely up to the ordinary people who together constitute civil society.

A few important fact to remember:

S. Korea lived under some form of military dictatorship from 1965-1988!

Brazil lived under a military dictatorship from 1964-1985!

Democracy is not an abstraction to these folk, it's a vulnerable thing that they want to protect.

I might not be up to date, but as I understand it, so far, President Biden has pardoned a bunch of turkeys and his son Hunter.

I'm hoping he will use also this presidential power to save some lives and for a long-overdue pardon for Leonard Peltier.

Now I hope he moves beyond the family and pardons Leonard Peltier. Also prosecuted for political reasons.
