Blood Upon the Wind is a historical fantasy murder mystery. A killer vampire is on the loose and the only one that can stop them is a strange detective who is not what he seems.

The more articles I see about Bluesky, the more it feels like an industry psyop because they see a site being moderately successful while having basic tools for limiting hate speech, and seethe at the notion someone could exist happily without constantly debating fascists.

90% of "free speech" discourse seems to just be "you need to let me call you more slurs without consequence."

And if you're a minority you better be prepared for *every* one of those conversations to be debating your existence in society.

My one UI hot take: Dark mode has killed good light mode design.
Our interfaces used to actually have colour and contrast in there. Now that dark mode is the default and everything is shades of black, many designers just do a lazy invert for light mode and make everything blindingly solid white.

It helps that a lot of it is finishing what I already started. The first has already been edited, even. But it'll be good to really get things out this year.

This year in writing, I am pursuing my rather ambitious goal of trying to publish five books during 2025.
Probably will include taking publishing more seriously in general; this year's releases should nicely round out my author catalogue.

The past couple of days have been crap but I did get three rare cards each in the two card packs I bought, so at least there's that.

Turns out the technician they're sending is for the wrong company - on the assumption the problem is the thing it's not - so my internet is probably not getting fixed anytime soon.

The guy just fully refuses to believe it could possibly be a modem issue, even as I watch my modem bootloop. So now it's being investigated as a completely different issue it is clearly not.

It actually went out fairly quick, I just had the unfortunate timing of ordering it right around the start of the month long Canada Post strike here.
