Not to mention the cost to players of smaller sports who are targeted on social media with hateful attacks when the outcome of an event goes against someone’s expectations. Tennis players unfortunately suffer from this a lot. And it’s worse for them because it’s an individual sport.

These are my two as well. I’ve been lucky enough to watch many matches in person, and these two are the players I’m most grateful to have seen.

I think the other difference is that we believed that our President, Congress etc was doing everything they could to protect us. Kids know that is no longer the case.

And when they see coverage of it on generic sports shows, it’s only about American players. So they have no way of knowing about other amazing players.

If a person like me, who is a huge tennis fan, struggles to figure out how to watch the big tournaments, how do the powers that be in tennis expect to remain competitive? It’s so frustrating.
