No, Xbox's next gen console hardware plans aren't cancelled — for now, but it's a problem that it was really easy to believe Rumors are swirling that Xbox is going to kill its hardware ecosystem. It's not true ... for now, but it easily could've been true, given how nonsensically Xbox acts lately.

There are presently no plans to cancel any planned Xbox hardware. The plans outlined by Sarah Bond and AMD, multi year partnership for first party hardware - they're still the plans as of right now.

Digital Foundry framed it in a way that made sense to me, they said a new Xbox would compete with prebuilt gaming PCs and not traditional consoles. That sounds appealing actually, considering how whack a lotta pre builts can be. I think this can still be a compelling product.

Actually no! Not many at all. I always use this site called Does It Play to look up which ps5 games are on disc fully, and it's definitely the vast majority of em. I'm pretty pleasantly surprised by how pro physical media Sony has been this generation.
