Sometimes I want to take a game like Baldur’s Gate3 or Clair Obscur and just totally remake the UIs and flows.

My god this game _never_ ends!!!

Everything about Clair Obscur is cumbersome. Traveling the game world is slow and awkward. The UIs are convoluted and hard to understand. Even the save files make it awkward to load the right game.

Clair Obscur is probably one of the games where I’ve used wikis and looking up information thé most because it expects me to learn so many convoluted systems. In addition because it is almost impossible to find my way around the world plus knowing where to go, backtracking takes so much time.

To a certain extent, maybe?

The combat is SO boring.

The excellent TV-series Killjoys has a lovely non-romantic friendship between a hetero man and woman. It never morphed, and it was so lovely.

I feel like my two days with severe headaches and neck pains made me miss… uh.. the Rapture?

Also - as an acquaintance pointed out - using an alien abduction metaphor in a country that is currently letting immigration thugs grab people off the streets and detain them indefinitely under pretty horrific conditions? That’s a bit… rich.

Wow. I wonder how much they tanked the (now nonexistent) brand by doing that.

It’s SO inelegant. I don’t get how this game is so lauded.

and counting. It turned out to be surprisingly efficient for some of the chromatic enemies because they give the player absolutely nothing.

I wish the story was interesting but it’s melodramatic and overwrought.

It’s incredibly time consuming to play this game and I am spending most of that time on transportation or awkward menu interactions.

Not to mention the endless repetition of the fights. It’s the same thing over and over and the signalling is so bad on some if the enemies that I find myself sitting

Clair Obscur spends a lot of time on wasting time. Transportation takes forever in the world map, there’s no real reason for it what I can see except to force the player to spend time in the locations.

There’s also a lot of lead up and finishing both in fights and in transitions.

I’m craving another Paladin book. I need to know what happened with Jorge. And Judith. And Wren.

The physical manifestation of the fictional narrative of a war on Christmas has nice abs, though.

In other words - the developers health means less to project management than the effort it would take to implement a process with planning, estimates, clear and measurable goals and sign offs.

Here’s why I get so angry when games projects decide to use overtime as the only winning strategy instead of looking at frameworks and processes to improve the efficiency of game development. It’s literally toying with people’s health.
