To be clear my GOTY last year was Lies Of P and I really liked FF16, and loved Sea of Stars. I'm not going to let an award show deter me from loving and recommending games I've played to other people. #gamedev

All of the discourae around GOTY nominees is silly. All of these games deserve a spot. I loved my time with Astrobot, put over 130 plus hours into FF7 Rebirth, and happily dove into Elden Rings DLC, also Balataro slaps. FF7 remake is my GOTY but I love and am rooting for the others too.

I always direct first timers to the series to Final Fantasy 4 because I think it does the best job of distilling its characters and narratives down to themes of Final Fantasy that are connected to every game after it.
