Giving my 25 year old cat a bit of supervised outdoor time. She's enjoying the smell and sounds, and the feel of the breeze. I think she finally knows she's old. When she was 17 she was still acting like a young cat: wanting to hunt, zooming around, even going on my shoulders for bike rides.

So tomorrow there is a risk of tornados in Washington. Weeeeeeee. I know I'm going somewhere with very stout walls for the day.

Entertained by my cat wanting in on this conversation just as I finished up those thoughts.

It's choosing to learn, it's finding ways through the mire of the pains and problems to find the bright things to hold onto and build for. It's hope, it's care, it's love and more. What is genuine, what is authentic? I think it's in not lying to your existence, and living in your life, fully living.

It's not in simply connecting work experiences and my motivations. It's in how I have my coffee, how I see each person as a person. It's in enjoying moments with my cat and seeing when she's asking for attention and connecting to what she's wanting. It's in connecting to what I want and need to.

I thought about how I like to connect with the weirdest person in the room to have a dynamic conversation and make a new friend. How I stop to enjoy a breeze and softly let the impressions of the smells and feelings sift through my awareness. My strong sense of injustice. And so much more.

A question I wasn't expecting in a professional setting was: Give an example of a time you were genuine. I did an okay job of it, but as I'm reflecting, my genuine moments are in the edges of each moment, in the wholeness of enjoying and connecting. To myself, my environment, to others.

Just had a funny realization: the humanizing ai text fixers, could in fact be used to make autistic communication sound neurotypical.

Also autistic communication is being flagged as ai at times. Which is where that thought spawned from.

I think it's funny to see the new ads popping into phone games full of AI voice overs. The speaker now sounds more normal, but with the syntax of another language. Makes me wonder if the learning models will keep using AI output and degrade each generation. Many developers do work in silos after all
