so crazy to me that a woman asked trump if he has any words for epstein's victims and he said "you as a young woman should smile more." it will go nowhere bc republicans refuse to hold trump accountable, but it's still pretty crazy.

Oh yes. It’s not the WEF that’s the problem. It’s these unpatriotic secretive right wing underminers.

A chatbot is less likely to abuse you though.

Surely we can still retain a service for those not comfortable, like shops having self service plus staffed tills?

What if the AI doesn’t sound like AI. Grok is often indistinguishable from a person. Vocalise it and you wouldn’t know. Surely many city folk can use a chatbot if it’s competent enough, so not even need a voice?

I see a day when AI refers complex issues with advice to doctors to help them understand the issues and correct course. They then feed back actual outcomes and both improve.

Fine, keep it for those that can manage it. Have another service for those that can’t.

There are many poor implementations us, but don’t dismiss well implemented health triage systems. They can score a better success rate than doctors (who only need 70% success rate to become a doctor). Doctors aren’t perfect and neither will AI be, but it will improve. It’s the future.

Quite. This isn’t about honour. We know everyone involved with Epstein is sleazy. It’s about what laws have been broken by whom and bringing them to court. The rich establishment unfortunately very good at avoiding legal accountability. Former post office head still not prosecuted for example.

100,000 UK properties are owned by offshore companies.

The scope for tax evasion and corruption is massive.

What is the government doing?

Coral is the oldest member of the animal kingdom: it’s been here for over 500 million years. After only 200,000 years of humankind we are killing it.

In my opinion Colville is on the side of corrupt exploitative companies. He’s literally advocating less regulation. I’m sure the companies would be very happy with that.

"Far-right politics has been in Britain for a century, during which no paying market has ever been found for this kind of worldview."

Says @frasernelson.bsky.social, who made a lucrative career out of publishing the racist rantings of Taki, Douglas Murray and Rod Liddle.

Government is made up from fallible ordinary individuals. Our expectations are often far too high. Yes, lots of stuff is best done by or led by government. We can still do our bit of course. Like picking up litter occasionally. Or fitting solar panels, insulation, heat pump, oh and getting an EV.
