Slippi version 3.5.0 is out.

✅ Stadium can now be unfrozen. Unfrozen is now the default in Ranked / Unranked
✅ You rank will now display on the Ranked CSS and animate with changes. Opponent's rank is visible in the setup screen. Both can be disabled.

Slippi Backend Migration If you see errors, update your launcher

Finished a 2 month long Slippi backend migration.

Hoping the changes lead to better reliability, improved security, lower costs, and less concerns about new features potentially overloading the servers.

I actually went once! I remember liking it tho it wasn’t amongst my favorites. But to be fair I only tried it once and maybe I would have preferred their other options.

I’ll give it another go if I’m out there again.

I’ve tried quite hard to find good vegan ramen in NYC and nothing has compared to my favorite spots in SF.

Best SF spots imo are Nojo, Mensho, and Hinodeya.

So far in NYC maybe Danbo is best but it’s not in the same tier.

Slippi Nintendont 1.13.0 is a must-update for TOs and players alike, finally enabling true and reliable power-on + walk-away autobooting. Changes include:

- Fix black screen freeze on boot
- Boot hotswap without USB drive
- Optionally disable Freeze Glitch
- Fix booting from USB

It will end on April 21st some time in the morning eastern time. After the season transitions it will take roughly 3 hours for the placements to be locked in as there might be lingering matches.

I'm working with Aklo and foxygrandpa to best honor Hax on Slippi.

Hax loved Melee and likely played more Slippi than anyone. It then feels apt to give him a permanent custom ranked profile page.

Yeah same. I just found myself being constantly in bad mental states after browsing Twitter and I felt like it was taking a toll.

I do think I feel significantly better not browsing it as much.

I've seen people describe Bluesky as a nicotine patch. Feels pretty accurate for me lol.

This also sets me up better to work on a ranked match history feature I've been wanting to work on for a while.

I was always a bit scared to do it because I wasn't sure if dgraph could handle the extra load that it will cause.

Just finished migrating a majority of the Slippi ranked reporting logic from dgraph to firestore.

I'm actually pretty excited about the prospect of migrating everything off of dgraph. I think it would improve speed, reliability, and cost. All big wins.

Slippi appears to be having some server issues at the moment. Looking into it.

May cause issues queueing, reporting, and probably other things too.

Honestly I don't understand the problem enough to know whether to blame Microsoft or Google (GCP) more in this case lol.

Alright I think this is fixed.

Might have been one of the dumbest things I've ever debugged tbh. I still don't really fully understand what happened and I kind of just worked around the issue.

Alright so this is almost certainly being caused by a windows version that is slowly rolling out meaning only some people have it right now.

Hopefully I can find a fix before too many people get the update.

There appears to be a small subset of users having issues with some Slippi services.

Seems to include failing to report ranked results, logging in at all, etc.

I'm looking into it.

Doc and Mario's cape hits have hitlag, so they do phantom damage but when I tested Mario it doesn't actually reverse the opponent.
