It is clearly solving a desire and a need.

Really is! No angels on any side.
Looking things up that happened two decades ago because the noise has cleared and academics and trusted sources have uncovered the facts.
The story around UK first satellite for example called SkyNet and what it did to US/UK intel relationship
Bad enough democracy is up for sale, but at Β£5k for this level of access AFTER people have been warned about state actors and openly identifying as working on behalf of China.

"Booms" hide a priceβslavery, strip mining, or displacement. US poured $1.2bn into solar R&D via the 1978 Solar Energy Act. China now controls 80% of the global supply chain. Though net positive of cheap solar. But we ignore gov funded RnD. Public funds often are behind final "private success"
08.12.2025 10:39 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0There are no "good guys" or "bad guys" there are complex narratives and interests. Obviously you can point at horrors UK, Germany and many other countries perform and there are good things to stand up for but interrogate it.

08.12.2025 10:39 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The reality of WW2 is it was the fire sale of the British Empire which funded it. We sold off everything cheap, capitulating trade agreements, sold private UK industry like American Viscose Corporation for pennies. We gave away a lot including payments to the US until 2006.

It's easy to forget how on the pulse of culture PlayStation was esp in Europe. It was the perfect ad for Europe at the time, but it was also VERY BRITISH. Local LEADERSHIP not just footprint matter
Used to play exclusivity in VR but some bugs a few patches ago out me off. I should try latest in VR it's a great VR game. Want to go relic redux this week but the texture bug is annoying

I've rebuilt the cache and still getting issues. Is my savefile toast? It's really robbing the joy to have constant texture corruption esp in UI & Discoveries
Anyone know how to fix?

Nah, but I got some dwarf's moss. It'll really blow your mind. Last time I took it, I saw fairies for three days!
Just got AI to summarise all my commits as I prep a massive PR of work I've been on/off since SEPTEMBER!
Big oof #gamedev #godot but yeah we are back to progress and shipping mode!!!
It produced a long report but this opening line was a gut punch because yeah it was.
Like money people aren't "evil devils" but if you allow people to privately invest into services people need and can't opt out of at some point you have to offer ABOVE market rates returns on investment otherwise they won't. Which means your just stealth taxing the poor the to fund the rich.
28.11.2025 11:38 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yeah my favourite bit was when someone called out a Labour MP about NHS privatisation she got all faked upset and called lies... only for moments later to say oh what SHE means by privatisation is making people pay at point of care.
Sneaky re-definition, if your selling off bones its private
It's no mistake the unimportant stuff gets cheaper (TV, fashion ect...) while the requirements to live like food, health, shelter, energy get more expensive. They make the unimportant stuff cheap to maximize volume and the essential stuff as expensive as possible because you can't afford not to.
27.11.2025 11:57 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I'm still upset about the stealth privatisation of the NHS through the budget yesterday. With PPP (PFI 2.0) and "neighbourhood care centres".
They know they can't be too obvious. So they go private by using sub contractors and private finance initiatives racking public services with DEBT.
My only real concern is if it pushes people more to Crypto and unregulated gambling (-_-)#
Bloody well hope not, but yeah move in the right direction.
Oh this is actually a nice budget one they are cracking down on offshore gambling. Going up to 40%. Very nice though I do wonder what that will do to ad spend from those companies in the UK market. Shocking how much betting ad work supports creatives.
Though I consider this a win for people overall
More property and asset tax is good but its a TINY amount. The real scary part of the UK Budget is #NHS PFI 2.0 is back. The thing which wracked the NHS with debt rebranded as PPP model to deliver 250 new "Neighbourhood Health Centres"
26.11.2025 16:08 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0There is a LOT under "Making the tax system fairer and fit for the 21st century" which is likely to hit higher earners esp the salary sacrifice cap
