23.01.2026 20:18 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 05/ There are homes for your votes out there. But it is not millionaires/billionaires grifting for power, more wealth and your votes that you should give them to.
They do not give a jot for you or me, but only for themselves.
4/ Has he made life better for one single working class, disaffected person in America? Of course he hasn't! He's far too busy making $BILLIONS for himself and his entourage.
Regardless of the politics of Catherine Connolly or your own political leanings, can we please not fall for this here.
3/ But here's the thing, if you honestly think millionaires and billionaires give one flying fart about your working class grievances or the good of the country and the welfare of the people, take a look at the archest grifter of them all, Donald Trump.

"Oh democracy has died! Oh half the country had no representation! Oh everyone should have spoiled their votes!"
Giving these people airtime legitimises them, when they are actually just rich people, hungry for power.
1 /So the day after Catherine Connolly wins a landslide victory, garnering the MOST VOTES EVER for an Irish Presidential candidate, RTE radio give infamous blue bag lady, millionairess and failed Presidential candidate, Maria Steen air time.

Sick of hearing βEx-Patβ. They are immigrants. I am also an immigrant from the UK living in Ireland.
22.08.2025 06:58 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0He will gain traction through social media but that won't be enough. Other far right numpties also get traction on-line but it does not translate to electoral success.
25.03.2025 08:06 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Youβre probably right. Academic though as donβt see the establishment nominating him
21.03.2025 16:59 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0And worth noting the number of First Preference Votes the Far Right candidates got at the last election. They may be vocal on social media but they have no traction in Ireland.

In my opinion a great choice for Canadian Liberal Party. Economically will run rings round the Orange shit gibbon and his sidekicks. Hopefully gives the Liberals a good chance in the election as well. www.rte.ie/news/world/2...

02.12.2024 08:43 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Irish election almost over and the good news is the Far Right candidates failed dismally. Shows that their on line support really is MAGA supporters and Russian bots eh fortunately canβt vote. Relieved and proud.

25.11.2024 12:35 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0So the election campaign here in Ireland is a battle of election posters. Hundreds of them dotted around the landscape, each one with the gurning face of the politician hoping to win your vote. On some the picture is so bad it makes you question what the others were like if this one was the best.

And in case my last post was too light hearted. The electoral system here results in coalitions so no extremes. The far right is so far failing to make inroads. So is the far left. And yet Ireland manages to punch above its weight internationally and takes good positions on real issues e.g. Gaza

We are in the middle of an election and it is refreshingly honest.
