US-Ukraine-European leaders' mtg is still ongoing, so any outcomes TBC. But Kyiv & EU already sent a clear message to both Trump & Russia: #Ukraine is not alone and Europe is serious about own responsibility for how the war ends & how security in #Europe is ensured.

These guys just called POTUS from their trip to Kyjiw.

Two days after VE-Day, one day after the revisionist cult of violence in Moscow.

An NEW EUROPE is taking shape, including UK and UA!

Very good. It is not all doom and gloom!

In Europe, to be able to properly explain why enlargement is important for the #EU, member states first need to be on the same page. But instead, there are disagreements.

We have to be on the same page — @engjellushem.bsky.social, Senior Research Fellow, @ecfr.eu

Trump’s senseless capitulation to Putin is a betrayal of Ukraine—and terrible dealmaking As the US and its European allies head to the Munich security conference, Europe must learn from its tragic history and oppose appeasement

Trump is not a strongman—he’s weak when facing hostile authoritarians. His latest call was sycophantic, offering major giveaways before negotiations even begin. #MC2025 must be the beginning of a European riposte to Trump’s Munich. @fromtga.bsky.social 📝

Backing up protests in Serbia is the occasion to "demonstrate that the EU is much more than an institutional structure; it is the product of interconnected ideas that deeply resonate in the social and political life of European countries."

How does one account for that contradiction? Is he ignorant? Is he getting back advice? Or is he rather driven by vandalism toward the European project? So many questions, some of them answered in most recent piece. www.persuasion.community/p/trumps-ana... /2

The big disconnect 🔌
Baltic states will sever the last power links to Russia on Sunday & become part of the EU’s electricity grid, as Moscow continues its aggression against Ukraine & its campaign of sabotage across Europe.

Serbia’s Vucic has neither cultivated strong relations with the EU nor Russia, both of which questioned Serbia’s reliability as a partner long before the protests broke out.
Student-led protestors don’t even want to talk to Vucic as they see him not credible.
Something has to give!
