Delights and surprises at www.sciencemuseum.org.uk/see-and-do/v... yesterday @sciencemuseumldn.bsky.social, with an excellent volunteer-led tour telling stories of a rhino, midwifery, smallpox and much more. Beautiful exhibition that shows how and why science flourished, as the monarchy died.

I do love nuts and bolts but this was also exciting and, importantly at the moment, optimistic.

A good, accessible explanation of some of the poor evidence and particularly poor science communication in nutritional world.

A year in the life of a clinical fact checker - Full Fact Full Fact’s clinical fact checker Dr Fergus Brown looks back at his year of fact checking health misinformation and reflects on what he’ll take back to his work in medicine.

Good stuff. "Science is a lot more complicated and dynamic than we’re generally led to believe. Things change, views are updated and consensus opinion can get things wrong. But if someone is telling you something that most experts don’t seem to believe, be careful about taking their word for it."

Yes, I don't love the idea - but I visited Madrid and Brussels recently and was struck by the good value of the museums. I'd have been delighted but surprised if they were free to me as a tourist - and for example 10eur for a 2.5 hour visit seems a bargain πŸ˜€ fine-arts-museum.be/en/visit/pla...

Do more people visit, or do the same people visit more? From 2016 www.centreforpublicimpact.org/case-study/f... Should overseas visitors be charged? UK visitors via an app that gives everyone some free visits? The money raised to fund school visits and activities, and to take museums on tour?
