But the one thing that I think it's hard for us to keep in mind is that, when you boil it down, there's two founding principles of this country that has been in the DNA of every of every event. One is demanding liberty, and the other is embracing white supremacy. Those things are in the founding fathers. They're in they're in at every stage of our history. And those two impulses we see in the streets of Minneapolis right now. Those are the contending forces, and each one is just as American as the other. Each one is and that is sort of the fatal flaw in the heart of this nation, is its inability to reconcile those two things.
