I am deeply sad, but also angry. I have been working on the angry part. I don't want to feel that so much. The greed and gluttony just piss me off. I try to focus on my surroundings. I feel fortunate that I have this refuge.

When I go to town, my mind sees people as the walking dead.

Thank you. I am getting up before dawn to get stuff done, then taking siesta time from 11am to 6pm. Oddly, my potatoes and goji berry bush are thriving. The earthworks I have created have helped retain enough moisture that my property has some green areas. No flowers, though.

It's been hard to watch the world burning. Locally, native desert plants are in bad shape. I drove through the continental divide today. It's mostly volcanic soil and has beautiful red flowers that only grow here this time of year. The area is just dead except for the trees. 😢

I tend to retreat when I am grumpy.

I don't have much to say about anything besides it all sucks sweaty balls.

Popping in to say howdy to all y'all. It's been a hot, dry NONsoon season. Many fires have been starting from lightning. We had an arsonist just to add to the fun of it all. There was a small fire in the hood, but our local volunteer FD put it out quickly.

I am so ready for winter.

I have a 325gal tank that hasn't been full for over a year. It's about half full now. I am so tired of hauling water. I am up to high for a well. I went two years on just rooftop catchment for drinking, washing, and irrigation. This drought has been annoying. 🤣

Through my own activism activities, I have discovered that many other activists only consider their chosen issue as valid. Imagine how different the world would be if we had each other's backs? I know lesbians who hate on others in the LGBT+ community for their orientation. It's a huge pet peeve.

Wow! Can we say "whataboutism"? I just lost all respect for you. Until men stop thinking that a woman voicing their lifelong and generational struggles against patriarchy is an attack on them personally, nothing will change. I have earned less than my male peers my entire career.

I am in the high desert. It's been horribly muggy. This isn't normal.

It's raining again! 🌧🥰 Even though it rained most of yesterday and some overnight, the dirt (clay) roads weren't that slippery when I went to take my trash. That's how dry it has been. I think we have gotten about 1/2" over the last week.

I am so pleased.

Mine was bone dry during planting season. I have hauled a lot of water this year. We haven't really had any wildflowers this year. I hope you get some rain soon.

The locally owned grocery store was stocked as usual. I think they buy from small, local farms as much as possible. I don't know about the chain stores.

I just had to go outside. I was wearing a t-shirt and shorts. Now I am in sweats and a hoodie. 😁

It's been raining for a couple of hours. My water tank has finally passed the 100gal mark for the first time in well over a year. Also, it's kind of chilly. I am going to make some soup to warm my cabin up. I am so happy.

Are you saying that corn syrup is better?
