Regency fic is interesting since it needs a certain level of formality in its dialogue. At least I’ve got a good base with McQueen as highly formal and Teio getting to be less formal as a prince.

hhhh I have one scene left in let love in and I’m dreading it. I don’t know how to write graduation scenes, I don’t remember high school and I didn’t attend my college one because I was abroad. How do you write graduation speeches…

Accidentally wrote myself into a corner requiring research, since I shuffled scenes around and now Teio is having a fancy dinner at the Mejiro estate for Christmas. Four western style courses is lowkey fancy enough, I think.

And just like that, I’m adding another chapter to let love in to account for ship drama and to give me a chance to write Christmas and New Year’s. It’s so wild to write by the seat of my pants like this again.

Okay, we’ve graduated to the grandma visit and McQueen’s grandma is doing the “show my grandkid’s partner baby/kid pictures of my grandkid” gag, we’re sort of past the drama hump

We are now neck deep in love triangle drama and drama about Teio and McQueen getting caught by a gossip journalist. I meant to have something funny, I swear.

So I’m stuck most of the day on the opening line to scene two of C4, and I’m lying here in bed with notebook and pen trying to get unstuck after a stressful day. And I finally say “write what’ll be funniest”.

Which is how we’ll be getting an Agnes Digital cameo/joke and some Gold Ship gags/drama.

McQueen firmly holds Teio by the chin beneath the cool glow of moonlight, bubbling spring water surrounding them. "I'm quite greedy, I'm afraid," she whispers.

I’m realizing that I may have written myself into a corner and made this scene too long. It’s six pages so far and I still have to get to a certain resolution point that’s a full day away for the characters.

I may just have to sleep on it and see how I feel tomorrow.
