I always start with reading Welsh and looking where English starts, but when I see, it's too late. It's quite tricky with longer text about roadworks ๐ซฃ

But actually, a question for you @martinjordan.com Regarding people from devolved nations (Wales in my case) sharing this guidance, how you think we could call it to make it clear it's from "central' gov ๐ค not Welsh gov?

Expand, stretching the future by design, starts pretty well.

I can also recommend "Content Transformation: Planning, strategy, culture change" written by Hinrich von Haaren
He highlights the need for culture change and is walking readers through mechanisms influencing the process of service transformation using principles of UCD/HCS SD.

18.07.2025 20:45 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Great example of introducing UCD to the organisation with strong legal constraints and low digital maturity.
Also it's good to see the influence of GDS and an example of building on its foundations
Thanks for sharing that Martin! I can see so many parallels to what we're experiencing in the NHS Wales (especially regarding low digital maturity and strong legal constraints which make introduction of UCD to the service pretty difficult. It was great to see the result of the whole 2 years journey.
25.05.2025 09:54 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Knowing (by now) how risk awerse is #healthcare sector, #UserResearch and #ServiceDesign should be their good friends!
These are tools to minimise the risk of failure in delivery of new or improved services.
Why there is so little attention to these two disciplines?
Interesting synergy coming
from systemic a service design coming together.

The question is how do you talk about UR in such environment?
And how you communicate UR activities to the external world... UR, engagement? Or any marketing lingo? (I came across that)
I wonder if other UCD people working in organisations in health/research area experienced coworkers being triggered by the word ,"research" even with "user" coming before it? I feel they have a set of assumptions and expectations related to the academic research not differentiating it from UR.
