Speaking of good customer service. I thought the mistakes on the fuselage here were my own. Gothaforce reached out saying there's something wrong with the decals and I will be getting a new kit. Meanwhile MBK has ordered replacement parts for my pontos models Roma set. π From me. #histscalemodels

Haven't really been posting any updates but work is continuing on the 3d printed Fokker D.VII. The kit has its issues but overall the fit and this magical not so brittle resin is making this kit certainly no more trouble than any styrene kit covered in lozenge. #histscalemodels

It is an excellent read I thoroughly enjoyed it and found it palatable for someone coming from IT (but with wider interests). I got at least one other person to read it and another to buy another book by you. I've got your quantum physics book as well to read at some point.

I think there might be some masking tape left on your left wing there!
I never say no to dark earth / mid stone schemes.

Yup RFM are probably my favorite armor brand despite having a bit lackluster instructions, at times completely omitting colour callouts! Great engineering though.

I'm absolutely loving this set! when can I start? Well I want to finish Missouri, I've got a GB in March.. april 1st doesn't sound bad unironically π maybe I need a little more time for Missouri though.

Requiring a gloss coat for decals is a dated idea. I haven't done it in years. Just make sure the paint is smooth by thinning it and use plenty of fluids when applying decals. Setters/water should vaporize, sucking the decal down without leaving air gaps.

I've done it with MRP. You might need to get a fine grit sander out and it might take a bit more to get it going but I've managed. Not sure about alclad.

Yeah that's exactly what that looks like I've had it even completely "crackle" on me once. Wasn't as successful on an aircraft π

Mercedes d.iiiaΓΌ coming along nicely. Needs weathering but otherwise complete. All wires etc are part of the kit.. quite clever. #histscalemodels

Yeah it can be cheaper but this is the best print I've seen for ease of use and no layer lines. I've got a lukgraph printed kit too and the difference is quite big. Besides the beautiful lozenge and click fit turnbuckles help as well. I'll post about my experiences with it!

Yup. They really pushed the materials and design on this it seems. No metal rods in the wings because they're hollow and super light. Many parts are printed in a slightly more forgiving resin like this cockpit. Less brittle. So far it feels like a winner, which it had to be for the price π

I'm thinking of opening a side challenge of 2-out-1-in challenge where you can only buy one new kit for every two finished or sold. Aftermarket is all game, especially for kits you already own. Anyone up to join me on that? π

The fact that this was just 3 months ago is crazy to me. The body is capable of a lot of healing. I don't have full range of motion and strength quite yet but it barely bothers me in daily life now.

Yeah me too but for example a brand new 3d printed engine came out for eduard's F6F which looks mighty fine π
I will be mainly focussing on reducing the number of kits in my stash anyway, not neccesarily spending less. Mostly by building, not buying (as many) and perhaps selling one or two.

No new aftermarket? I could never :D removing paintpoints from kits with 3d printed stuff (for example engines with full wiring straight from the print) often makes me pick stuff from my stash back up. I am going to try a 2 out 1 in this year though. Good luck to all π

Not the most original perhaps but the Spitfire shapes are timeless. Such a good looking airframe and nice finish.

Please be a little bit more abrasive the next time people just reply to what a thread starter spouts. It really makes people want to interact (not). Call them names instantly as well. Blocked.

Interesting, it was OP that kept complaining about Europeans and how talking was easy. Funny when a European country does a lot more than talk its suddenly irrelevant to compare.
"Does it just make you feel interesting on the internet?" oof the projection is palpable.
